Ps. the lines would be closer if each started from the date when cases took off in each country (thus allowing for different stages in the spread of the virus) and used a log scale (for exponential growth). But it& #39;s often helpful to look at raw data too, before any adjustments.
PPS. the daily UK data don& #39;t include deaths outside hospital, but this shouldn& #39;t make much difference. The ONS publishes complete data weekly. In the latest available week, 93% of deaths were in hospital (the rest in hospices, care homes & private homes).
