I have discovered over the past few days that I have a group of young Americans as neighbours. I’m fascinated by their intense conversations (they’re quite loud and I’m obscenely nosey). but at no time...
Do they stop to listen to one another and ask the questions that deserve to be asked. Moreover they just offer a case in point or scenario from their point of view...
They are intelligent but seem to lack an enormous amount of enquiry and empathy. How are we to learn from one another if we only ever experience life from our perspective.
I’m quite astounded at the amount of mansplaining going on in the group too. Ooh just overheard ‘the British were obnoxious’....excuse me for a moment whilst I listen more intensely

Well the women in the group seem to have disappeared quite quickly now, bored off i should imagine. Anyways back to potting me plants...as you were.
