Trots are nuts. They apply totally irrational standards to the USSR that don't apply to any other country.

In the 1920s, USSR dealt with civil war.

They were completely agrarian and so they had to industrialize.

Their population was mostly illiterate so they needed literacy.

They also had no equipment and needed modern equipment.

Also, Britain industrialized in the 1780s.
USSR did it in 10 years.

In the UK, it took nearly 200 years.

Let's not forget that they didn't have the imperial army that had conquered 2/3 of the world... like the British forces.

So.. The best they could do is stop Britain and France from overtly invading them.
