Big up The Guardian. I feel bound to add my voice to this now. The lack of accountability from most parts of the media is at best shambolic, at worst implicit in the death doll. https://twitter.com/OwenJones84/status/1248741693484040199">https://twitter.com/OwenJones...
The idea that there are journalists blinding defending this government with (factually incorrect) lines like “they’ve been doing all they can” is insane.
Can you imagine being a doctor or nurse caring for Boris? The figurehead of a government that has spent a decade systematically dismantling the thing you hold dear, who has exacerbated this national crisis, lying there expecting your everything to save him.
Saying The Times revelations are tantamount to manslaughter doesn’t feel over the top tbh. Link without paywall here for those that haven’t yet read it. https://archive.is/20200418182037/https://www.thetimes.co.uk/edition/news/coronavirus-38-days-when-britain-sleepwalked-into-disaster-hq3b9tlgh">https://archive.is/202004181...
Feel I should share this thread which unpacks the flaws in The Times article...and probably makes my last tweet look a tad extreme. But does vindicate my earlier point that the press have something to answer for.
