Genuine question. What would you do about a neighbour having loud phone conversations in her garden all day, every day (3.7m wide terraced gardens)? She’s clearly going through some shit, but it’s selfish.

Pass agg huffing? Note through door? Suck it up?

Notes:
1. She’s aware I can hear her - low fence means she can see me in my garden.
2. Her conversations are in a language I don’t speak so she knows I can’t understand/eavesdrop.
3. She doesn’t seem the calm, cooperative sort.

OH MY GOD UPDATE!!! So, I walked into the garden, she’s out here. She APOLOGISES for having been so loud and then tells me EVERYTHING. I offered her a gin and gave her my phone number and goodness, you don’t know what goes on behind closed doors.

Fucking glad I had a full drink for this because wow *slurps on straw*

Her husband has left her after she had him arrested for bearing her up. He’s been beating her up for two years, promising to change etc. The noises I heard the other day were him trashing the TV.

When she called the police he told them to call a doctor so he could prove she is CRAZY (classic abuser) and now apparently he’s bought a plane ticket back to Romania and is abandoning the baby. His whole family blame her.

The poor woman feels so alone, so afraid and so guilty and oh goodness I told her I wanted to hug her and she should let me know if she needs ANYTHING.

I told her how strong she has been and how she isn’t alone and that there are hopefully some online counselling/support services she can access instead of waiting for lockdown to end.

I cannot imagine the hell she is currently going through, feeling so alone and isolated and abandoned and helpless during lockdown. Fuck.
