In these times of difficulty, we may feel lost, unsure about ourselves and what the future holds. Our world has become isolated, limiting what we cherish most–connection. These are unprecedented times, so these feelings are normal.
In these times of difficulty, we may feel lost, unsure about ourselves and what the future holds. Our world has become isolated, limiting what we cherish most–connection. These are unprecedented times, so these feelings are normal.
1/2 Structure: When we are faced with unpredictability, we need to bring back control into our life. Create a structure for your day to provide routine. The brain and body will like this and will respond positively as they have predictability & therefore a sense of control.
1/3 Being present: Although easier said than done, try to live moment-to-moment, day-to-day. Focus not on the future as this can feel overwhelming. To focus on the present you may even want to break the day into segments & set small achievable tasks to facilitate.
1/4 Emotions: Emotions may feel overwhelming but this is normal and will not last forever. Self-soothe to calm your threatened brain. Do breathing exercises & rhythmic exercise is good for emotional healing. Grief is a normal emotion and look to find ways of celebrating...
1/5 ...the life of those you have lost just now. Remember them with happiness. Allow yourself the time to feel the pain of loss, but don’t let it consume you. Connect with others who live in the same household or on-line. Let your grief bring you together not push you apart

1/6 Body. Your body loves physical exercise of any sort, especially repetitive & rhythmic. Exercise doesn’t have to be outside and you can watch YouTube videos yoga, mindfulness, exercise routines, walking on the spot, anything that can help get you moving

1/7 Connection: We are social creatures wired for connection. Within yr daily structure, put time aside to connect with ppl/pets. Try online sharing fun, jokes & catchup with family&friends. Give loved ones a hug/comfort to let them know it& #39;s going to be okay. This too shall pass
1/8 Opportunities: Use this time to engage yr interests. Simple DIY, a new language online, write, create, make new recipes. Look at opportunities to achieve things that have been put off. The internet is a great tool for harvesting opportunities and allows for small achievements
1/9 And finally, get out old pictures of good times, connection, scenery, and celebration. Let your mind and body soak in and remember the positive, fun times.
