As an Advanced Paramedic in #Ireland I have a few thoughts about the way we are dealing with the #COVID19ireland.In no particular order of importance (serious and funny... hopefully) these are my thoughts from a professional and personal point of view and not my employer.A thread
- being able to assess patients at home with mild symptoms and advise to stay at home has been a huge advantage for us and will hopefully change our practice around treat and refer in the future and speed it up.
- having GPs working in our control room is simply WORTH ITS WEIGHT IN GOLD... please stay please

-All ED have slightly different systems for COVID patients so adapting to them can be a small challenge but always a learning opportunity.
- the staff on the road are fantastic.... we look after each other so well. Between whatsapp group around health and well being thanks @thefitemergency. to just getting calls to see how everything is. The pre hospital family is just that a family.
- if you have chest pain, bleeding, stroke signs please please please call 112 for an ambulance... we are the emergency service after all.

- the @CMO is a legend (want to buy him a pint when this is all over)
- the public, patients and family members are so understanding with regards to us wearing PPE and I am sure its unsettling for them.

- did I mention the GP in the control room are fantastic.... please stay
-I have a new found level of respect for people that work from home with children (my better have is amazing)

- googles with the FP2 masks fog up all the time.... nightmare

-we should organize a of night in @CopperFaceJacks for a party after this is over
- being able to speak directly to the ED staff on the radio from the ambulance would be a huge benefit (our control room colleagues are busy enough dispatching ambulances)

- I want to own a hand sanitizer and PPE company

-Public health staff are unsung legends
- was stopped by @GardaTraffic at least twice on the way home or two work each shift. You guys are doing fantastic work well done
-all ED are under pressure and we as a service need to understand that we are in unprecedented times and are one big team. So if I can do anything small to help you guys in the ED just ask..I am great at getting coffee and chocolate.
- my Twitter friends and family have been a huge support with chats and having a laugh and catching up from a personal and professional view. Thank you all.
- This will end. Wash your hands, stay home #FlattenTheCurve

END
