Baekhyun is back in town after 5 years. He miss everything especially that one man who always own his heart. He wishes to find him again but he's too cowardly.

One day a kid comes to him "You look lonely, can I stay with you?"

Baekhyun want to get rid the feelings in his chest, so maybe a talk with his best friend would help him

Baekhyun sighs, he orders an Ice Americano and sits on the corner of the cafe. He scrolls on his phone , searching for a picture of a certain someone he could never forget even after 5 years.

He lets out a shaky breath.

It's basically his routine, he loves to stare at his lover's picture to get rid of his longing. He misses kyungsoo so much, he even comes back for him.

But baekhyun is not ready to meet him. Him who he left so suddenly years ago.

Suddenly, a little kid comes to him
"You look lonely, can I stay with you?" startling baekhyun who is confused with the kid sudden request

"Where are your parents kid ?"
"My dad is not here"
"Are you lost or something?"
"Nope, my dad will come later. So, can I stay with you ?" the kid says
"Uh sure, here" baekhyun drags the nearest chair and helps the kid sit on it
"Thank you" he smiles
"My name is Seonmul"

"You have a nice name"
Seonmul smiles with the compliment
"And a nice smile. I'm baekhyun"
"Hi baekhyun" the kid says excitedly
Baekhyun chuckles at the adorableness
"aren't you afraid of stranger ?"

"Hmm you're not a stranger anymore. I know your name. You're baekhyun. I'm Seonmul. That makes us friend"
Baekhyun chuckles again
"But I just told you my name a minute ago"
"You seem harmless. I'm not scared. And you look lonely"
"Am I really? What makes you think I'm lonely?"

"You're sitting alone, at the corner, staring at your phone for a good minute and you have that face"
"What face?"
"The face people makes when they have problem"
"Wow aren't you too young to be talking like this?"

"well, I got that a lot. People say I don't act like my age. But my dad is okay with it as long as I don't cause problem"
"You're a smart kid. How old are you?"
"I'm only 9 years old"
"That's impressive"
"I know"

Baekhyun chuckles and pinches the kid's cheek
"you're cute. I like you"
"I like you too. I hope you smile more. It looks good on you"
baekhyun smiles to the kid, somehow his chest feels lighter, thanks to the kid

"That's better, you're feeling better right?" The kid touches his hand, Baekhyun ruffles the kid's hair
"I am, thank you"

Suddenly his phone pings, he frowns reading the messages

"Life has ups and downs. sometimes we're happy, sometimes we're sad, sometimes we're upset. That's okay. That's make us human. Human makes mistakes too but as long as you are still breathing, you'll always have another chance. Don't give up" suddenly the kid says

Baekhyun stares at the kid in surprise
"Do you even know what you're talking about kid?"
"Of course. I learnt it from my dad. But I'm just a kid, I wish I know the meaning behind it"

-No you don't. This life is cruel, you don't deserve it- baekhyun said in his mind

"I hope you find your happiness baekhyun"
This kid is so innocent, baekhyun wants to hug him

"Hmm I need to go to the bathroom, and I think my dad is coming soon so I have to leave you now. We are friends now right?"
"Yeah of course"
"So give me your phone number"

"wait, you have a phone ? Aren't you a little young to have one?"
"I have it for emergency. That's what my dad said" the kid hands out his phone for baekhyun to punch in his number
"Here you go"
"Thank you, and if you need a company I'm just one call away" the kid sings

Baekhyun chuckles and ruffles the kid hair again. The kid gets down from his seat and opens his arms wide, signaling baekhyun for a hug. Baekhyun smiles and hug him. His heart trembles at the kids quiet words
"I may be a kid, but you can call me anytime"

Unknowingly, Baekhyun tightens the hug, suddenly finding comfort with the arms of a little kid. He adores the kid. Since the moment he interacts with the kid, he forgot all those heavy feelings in his chest. Like the kid's name, his presence is like a "gift" for him

Baekhyun is left alone at the table. He smiles to the kids words

"what a smart kid" he mumbles to himself. He goes back to the messages he received from his parents and tells the he'll be coming for dinner

Kyungsoo comes into the cafe and searching for his son immediately. He got wary because he doesn't see his son in their table. He looks at every corner of the cafe.

He freezes when he sees a familiar figure sitting at one corner. He stares at the figure for a minute

trying to remember those features of his lover 5 years ago. When his brain confirmed that man is baekhyun, he does the very logical thing to do.

He runs away.

Chanyeol stares at his coversation a while ago with kyungsoo. They agreed on trying to cook a new recipe for chanyeol's cafe menu additions

He punches in the passcode he remembers kyungsoo told him "110512" . Chanyeol snorts once the door open.

"He is really that important in your life huh" he mumbles. Kyungsoo never told him but he knows the passcode is the date baekhyun and kyungsoo officially become boyfriends.

He remembers the date too, because that was the day his heart breaks into million pieces knowing that his feelings on kyungsoo will never get reciprocated. He sighs. It's been years. He moved on. But the scars is still there. He brings all the bags and ingredients to the kitchen

He is preparing for their cooking session when he heard the passcode being punched a bit aggressively, he goes to see but he's only greet with kyungsoo's sprinting to his room and slam the door. Chanyeol is confused
"what's wrong with him?"

He knocks and tries to open kyungsoo's door but it's locked
"Kyungsoo? What happened?"
He knocks a few more times and keep calling kyungsoo's name but there's no answer

Becoming more worried about the silent treatment, chanyeol texts kyungsoo

"Read your message please" he shout from the door

Suddenly the door's open and kyungsoo rushes out
"Hey tell me what the hell happened?!"
"I'm sorry, let's cancel the plan for today? I'm getting Seonmul. Please lock the door when you're out" kyungsoo said while wearing his shoes
Chanyeol's left alone speechless

"Maybe it's not a good day" he breathes
He takes a note and writes
"Text me if anything happened" , he put it on the table beside the couch before taking his stuffs and leave

Kyungsoo rushes his way back to the cafe. He curses himself for being so stupid leaving his 9 years old kid behind . Just then, his phone pings

His every steps is filled with anxiousness. Not that he's that worried about Seonmul because he knows that kid is smart and can take care of himself. He is more anxious about meeting baekhyun as he is the reason kyungsoo ran away earlier.

The moment he enters the cafe, the first thing he looks at is the place where he saw baekhyun earlier. Turns out he's not there anymore. Kyungsoo finally let out a breath he doesn't know he's holding. His heart beats crazily. His legs shaken so he sit on one of the chair

"Dad, are you okay? Why are you panting?"
"I'm fine, I'm just nervous about leaving you alone"

Seonmul twitch his mouth 'that's strange, I have been alone many times and he never get this nervous before' the kid thinks

"Don't worry, I'm not alone, I have a company"

"you talk to a stranger?" Kyungsoo raises his voice
"He's my friend now"
"Seonmul I told you not to trust stranger easily"
"But he's kind. He seems so lonely, I want to cheer him up"
Kyungsoo soften at this
"Did you manage to cheer him up?"

"of course, I am not named Seonmul for nothing! He smiles really wide" Seonmul excitedly claims. Kyungsoo chuckles
"That's nice of you"
"Yeah, I sit with him while waiting for you and he's really kind. I even got his number. Can I message him. Please, I want to be his friends"

"How old is he?"
"Maybe around your age"
"Isn't he too big to be your friend?"
"Friendship is not about age. It's about the genuine connection between them"
"Well that's very wise of you little man"
"I know"
Kyungsoo ruffles his hair
"Let's go back"

"So can I send a message to him?"
Kyungsoo contemplates. Seonmul pouts
"Okay, but please be careful just in case he is not a good person"
"Dont worry dad, your son here is a smart person"
Kyungsoo just laughs and shakes his head. Amused by his son antics

The moment they reach home. Kyungsoo spots the little note chanyeol left. He immediately takes his phone and send him a notice

"Okay, tell him a thank you for taking care of you while I'm away"
"But he did not take care of me. Im accompanying him because he looks lonely!"
"Seonmul, it's basic courtesy, he's the adult so he's the one accompanied you. Just thank him"

Baekhyun receives messages and immediately smiles at the sender

That kid is so thoughtful and kind. He reminds baekhyun of someone. Someone so dear to him, he always there whenever he needs him, holding his hand, listening to his story, hug his problem away, kiss his worries away.

"No one should be left alone, since we don't know what they've been through. Stay with them. At least that'll comfort them" is what kyungsoo always says

Suddenly, his emotions pile up, tears streaming down his cheeks "I'm sorry" he mutters quietly

[ Flashback ]
Kyungsoo has always been an understanding person, that's why baekhyun loves him so much

That night kyungsoo keeps holding him close because he knows baekhyun is not okay, he knows baekhyun has issues with his father even though baekhyun never told him in details. All he knows is that he'll always be by his side

"You know I'm so glad I found you" baekhyun moves closer and cuddles with kyungsoo
"Me too" kyungsoo interwines their fingers
"My life is so miserable but you make me happy"
"I'm glad"
"Please don't leave me"
"I would never leave you" kyungsoo kiss his head assuringly

[Current time]

It's been a week since kyungsoo last saw baekhyun at the cafe. It's not that he counts the days but there's this nagging feeling inside of him that wants to see baekhyun again even if for a second. He thinks about that day

Baekhyun looks a little different since 5 years ago. He's a little thinner now.

"Has he not eat or what?" He shakes his head . Ugh he shouldn't care. However, he can't help but remember the slump of his body posture and the dull expression of baekhyun

It doesn't help that he understands baekhyun enough to know something is not right, something is bothering him, something that never failed to make his heart goes soft and make him want to hug him
"What am I thinking?" He mutters

"He left you kyungsoo. For 5 years without saying anything. He hurts you so bad. You shouldn't care about him" he tells himself before sighing

"What happened to you. Why are you coming back. Why are you reopen the wounds I thought have healed" kyungsoo mutters quietly

"Dad, why are you being sad ?"
Kyungsoo startles. How come he doesn't hear the doors open
"Where's chanyeol?"
"He told me to go in first, he said he wants to make a call"
"Okay, did you have fun?"
"Yeah, but not anymore?"
"Why?"
"Because you're sad"
"Seonmul"

"Dad, I know you" Seonmul approaches kyungsoo with his arms wide open. Kyungsoo smiles and hug his little son
"It's okay, your turn has come to be sad. It's not a crime to be sad" Seonmul mumbles on his shoulder. Kyungsoo breathe in air and slowly releasing it

"aww what a sweet scene" comes chanyeol into the living room
"Mom says hi btw, she misses you. I swear she loves you more than me"
Kyungsoo chuckles
"I love me too if I was her"
"Hey ! That's mean ! I'm hurt" chanyeol put his hand on his chest while looking at seonmul

Seonmul shakes his head and goes over to hug him
"poor uncle baby" Seonmul coos making kyungsoo laughs. Chanyeol is happy with the affections
"Chanyeol, you're too big to be called a baby"
"Whatever, I like it. Seonmul likes me. That's what matters"

"Alright now, go take a bath and do your homework"
"Okay dad"
Chanyeol tighten his hug with Seonmul
"No don't, your dad is just jealous with us" he chuckles when a pillow lands right on his face. Seonmul giggles, he kisses chanyeol's cheek and going to his room

"Your son is really a ball of sunshine"
"I know, I'm so lucky to have him"
"You are, he literally brought you back to life"
"Speaking of, you ready to talk ?"
"Chanyeol"
"You know you cant avoid it forever right?"
"I'm fine"
"Seonmul is worried about you"
"Why?"

"He said you've been acting weird"
"He's just a kid"
"A smart one. And I believe him"
Kyungsoo bites his lips, thinking of words he wants to say
"I don't know what exactly happened to me" he finally says
"Go on" chanyeol sit across of him

"You know how hard its been for me when he left without saying anything" .
"Yeah you practically dead. A zombie"
Kyungsoo glares at him
"Sorry"
"It's been 5 years, I have Seonmul with me now, I have job, I have my life together. I thought I over him, I thought I was strong"

"You are strong, kyungsoo"
"I thought so too, but I'm not" kyungsoo looks up to him teary eyed
"That moment when I saw him again, it feels like all the strength I built, crumbles in seconds"
"and he looks so fragile and makes my heart aches even more. It's not fair.

I was hurting for years but I'm still soft when I see him" kyungsoo cries
Chanyeol moves and hugs kyungsoo, he's lying if what kyungsoo says doesn't break his heart too

Knowing that kyungsoo still loves that bastard after what he did to him really feels like a punch in the gut.

"Shhh kyungsoo, Seonmul might hear you" chanyeol tries to comfort him when he chokes a sobs. It's been so long since he's crying over baekhyun again

But the feelings are so fresh it really hurts.
"I miss him. What do I do. I'm such a fool"
"You're not a fool, kyungsoo"

"But I really tried to forget him"
"Maybe you still hold on to him because there's no closure in your relationship" Chanyeol says

Silence taking over the room.

[ Flashback ]
Baekhyun's taking kyungsoo to his favorite secret place

"isn't it pretty?"
"Yes it is, baekhyun"
"I like it here. It calms me down everytime I come here"
"I like it here too"
"Now this is our secret place, please come here whenever you miss me and I'm not there by any chance. I'll do the same too"
He seals the deal with a kiss

[ Current time ]

It's been a month baekhyun's back in the town and no sign of kyungsoo, not that he searches for him because he's too coward to do so, but no accidental meet up either. That makes his longing even stronger

He climbs up the secret place he used to go. He thought it'll be nice to relieve stress in his favorite place, and it's a special place for him and kyungsoo too. When he arrived, his steps stop the moment he sees a back of a figure

He sees a man sitting on his favorite secret place but due to the sunset light, he can't see very well. He sees the man spreading his arms as if he's embracing the winds
"Maybe he's meditating or something" baekhyun thought it's rude to bother the man

So he just waits at the corner. He sits on the nearest large rock and enjoys the breeze. The moment he looks at the man again, his body freezes entirely. He sees a man so beautiful. His skin is colored by the sunset, his hair dances along the winds

The man he longs for, finally appearing in front of him. His heart blooms, he really wants to run and hug the man, kyungsoo but he knows he doesn't has the right to. He's an asshole. He left kyungsoo for 5 years. Kyungsoo probably hates him

So he backs out, he goes to hide himself where kyungsoo will not see him. He then silently watches kyungsoo form a far
"I miss you, my love" he whispers. That's when he felt his cheeks wet with tears
"I'm sorry" guilt filling his chest again

[At jongdae's house]

"I saw him today" baekhyun mutters slowly
Jongdae looks at his gloomy friend. It's been a long time they've seen each other, but it hurts him to see baekhyun being like this
"He looks so beautiful, jongdae"

Jongdae moves to sit beside baekhyun. He looks at his bestfriend closely, baekhyun is a bit thin, he has eyebags, his skin is pale. Jongdae sighs
"I'm sorry it has to be this way"
"It's all my fault, if only I didn't left him 5 years ago"
"You were trying to save your family"

"But I lost the love of my life"
"Baekhyun, are you living like this for the past 5 years ?"
"Living like what"
"A wrecked"
Baekhyun looks at jongdae who raises his eyebrows

"I thought it was the best decision for my family. It does. Father got his wealth secured. Mother stops crying days and night. I should be happy I saved my family"
"You should, you're a hero"
"But I can't, not when I lost kyungsoo"
"I thought you come back here for him ?"

"I want to. But I'm a coward. I spend days building my courage just in case I meet him again. I saw him finally, but I can't bring myself in front of him. He probably hate me now and I hate the idea of him suffering because of me"
"But you suffered too"
"I deserved it"

"No baekhyun, no one deserves to be suffering. Neither do you or kyungsoo. kyungsoo is a nice and understanding person. If you explain things to him, he'll understand. Plus, he loves you"
Baekhyun looks at jongdae when jongdae squeezes his shoulder

"You can't be like this forever. Both of you are suffering. Both of you need a closure. Talk to him"

"Talk to who?" suddenly says a kid. Both baekhyun and jongdae are surprised to see him
"Seonmul?" Baekhyun calls
The kid beams
"You know this kid?" Jongdae asks baekhyun

"He's my bestfriend appa" comes jongdae's son, Daeul who immediately hugs jongdae and bows to baekhyun
"He's here to play and we're gonna do homework together" Daeul grins
"Nice to meet you, Daeul's appa" Seonmul bows. Jongdae smiles

"That's a good thing to hear, Daeul has a best friend now. Your parents know you're here?"
"I messages my dad earlier, he said I can play here as long as I don't cause inconvenience to the family"
"You messaged your dad? You have a phone with you?"

Jongdae raises his eyebrows and baekhyun chuckles
"Yes, for emergency purposes, dad's working anyway, so I'm free"
"How about your mom?"
"I don't have a mom"
"Oh you have another dad?"
"Nope, only one dad and one uncle. Both of them are working"

That caught baekhyun's attention. Single dad. Whoever this kid's dad is, he's amazing to raise Seonmul the way he is
"Stop asking questions like that honey" says junmyeon out of the kitchen

"It's okay, I'm not sensitive with the questions. I'm not embarrassed having a single dad. He's a good dad and he raised me well"
Both junmyeon and jongdae were surprised with the kid's answer
"He sure did " baekhyun ruffles the kid's hair making him grin

"And how do you know him?" Jongdae asks
"He's my friend. I met him once at a cafe. He's a smart kid"
"Honey, help me prepare for dinner and Daeul go change your close"
"Yes sir !" Both jongdae and Daeul says
"So your dad permits you to stay here until when?"

"Hmm, past dinner maybe?"
"Isn't that too late?"
"Well, dad's working on a cafe until late night usually. I don't have anything to do anyway. Junmyeon is my dad's old friend. He visits the cafe sometimes"
"But how come jongdae doesn't know you"
"Easy, we never met"

Baekhyun chuckles "You're a smart kid"
"I know" he grins
"It's only this week we found out my friend at school, Daeul is actually the son of my dad's old friend. So here I am welcoming myself in this house" the kid grins

Just then, Seonmul gets messages from his dad so he immediately replies

"Dad said he will pick me up on 9pm, is that okay?" Seonmul asks
"Why are you asking that?" Baekhyun says
"It's basic courtesy"
"Well, I don't live here, so it's not me you should ask"
"Oh, that's explain why"
"What?"
"it's just odd to see you here, unless Daeul has 3 dads"

Baekhyun laughs at this
"I'm just a guest too"
"That makes the two of us" seonmul beams
"Where is your dad's workplace?"
"At a cafe near the movie theater at the city"
"Oh that's pretty close to my place"
"Really? Maybe I could hang out with you sometimes"

"That'll be fun. Can't wait" Seonmul nods excitedly
"Well, I can drop you off later, tell your dad, don't bother picking you up"
"Really?" Seonmul contemplates with the offer

"I'm just offering you as a friend. Your dad's must be tired working. It'll save him from the inconvenience. Plus, its on my way home anyway"
"Wait let me asks my dad"

So he texts his dad

"My dad says okay. He says thank you to you"
"You're welcome, besides maybe I could meet your amazing dad too"
"Are you trying to flirt with my dad?"
"What? I don't even know your dad"
"Well you might interested, and he's single so why not"
"Do you want to have another dad?"

"I want my dad to be happy"
"You think he's not happy?"
"He loved someone but that person left him, he never dated after that, he even rejected his bestfriend saying he's not ready to love again"

That left a pang to baekhyun's heart

It sounds like his love story, except he's the one who left

"He acts strong but I always see him sad and sometimes cry. He doesn't show it but I just know. I wish he could find love again. I wouldn't mind if it's you though. You seem lonely too"

"You don't even know me that much kid, what if I am a bad person ?"
"No you're not. I know you're a good person"
"How did you know?"
"I just know" Seonmul grins
Sometimes baekhyun really caught off guard with the kid's answers

"Is this the right cafe ?" Baekhyun asks
"It is !" Seonmul grab his hand and lead him into the already empty cafe
"Umm sorry we're close-- eyy Seonmul" says a very tall man
"Hi Kris ! Where's dad?"
"Ah he's in the room, we're closing" says the man while eyeing baekhyun

"This is my friend baekhyun, he takes me here"
"Ah i see, nice to meet you baekhyun, I'm Kris. Sorry I need to go, it past my work hour already, so"
"It's okay, nice to meet you too" they wave Kris goodbye
"Sit over there, I'll call my dad"

"Hey, don't bother if your dad is busy, I don't want to intrude"
"He's not busy, he's done with work, he probably packing his things or something. Wait up"
Baekhyun got anxious suddenly, meeting new people is not something he's good at recently

"Come on dad"
Baekhyun heard Seonmul excitedly says. He prepares himself to meet Seonmul's dad

Baekhyun stands up and look at the dad, suddenly it feels like the whole world stops, he forgot how to breathe for seconds. They stare at each other in a distance

"Why is everyone freezing? Do you know him, Dad ?" That breaks the tension between them
"You must be Seonmul's friend" kyungsoo says
"Y-yes I-i am" baekhyun stutters
"Well thank you for dropping Seonmul's here. I hope he's not a burden and I'm sorry but we're busy closing"

"uh yeah, it's okay, I live around here" not that kyungsoo needs to know
"Uhm right, I get going first. You probably busy closing up. Bye Seonmul" he waves a final goodbye and left

Kyungsoo let's out a shaky breath. He looks at his son that staring at him in wonder

"what?"

"You're not busy, you even nap inside there"
"But we're closing up, so technically it's true"
"You don't like my friend" Seonmul pouts
"What? What makes you said that?"
"You want him to go away fast, that's why you said so, you don't even asked his name !

I thought it's a basic courtesy in meeting new people. What if he's offended?" Seonmul argues
Kyungsoo's head hurts. He really can't argue with his son right now
"Right, I'm just tired, I don't know what's get into me. What's his name btw?"
"Baekhyun" Seonmul beams

Suddenly his knees go weak, it's like he just received a blow. 'why did you friend with him of all people' his mind says
"I'll tell him you're sorry and not mean to be rude on the first meeting. Is that okay?"
"Why would you that?"
"Duh . Manners dad"

It's ironic how he has to do the sorry for being rude now. It makes his head hurts even more
"Whatever serve your plate son, let's go back,my head hurts" Kyungsoo sighs

'hmm this is strange' Seonmul thought to himself

Baekhyun lays on his bedroom, staring at the ceiling
"What the fuck just happened?" He curses quietly

That's when new messages come from Seonmul

Baekhyun's heart is soaring as he types a message to junmyeon

"kyungsoo" he mutters
"I thought it was a dream. I really finally meet you" he says to himself

His first encounter with kyungsoo after 5 years. He doesn't know what hurts more, the fact that he is there but he can't hug him or the fact that kyungsoo pretends to not know him

He saw kyungsoo last evening and he hid himself so that kyungsoo wouldn't notice him. He told himself he's not ready.

But now that he finally met kyungsoo in person, unexpectedly, he really thought his heart stops functioning

"You are still beautiful" and he closes his eyes

Kyungsoo wakes up coughing. His head hurts and he feels weak. He look at his phone

He's glad he can take days off. He feels really weak and all he wants to do is sleep. So he does.
"Dad, you're not going to work ?"
"No chanyeol gives me days off the weekend" his voice comes out horse and weak

He feels Seonmul's hand on his forehead and a gasp
"Dad, you're sick !" Seonmul claims
"I'm fine seonmul, I just need sleep"
"Let's go to the hospital"
"No I'm okay, it'll go soon"
"Let me tell chanyeol"

"No he's not here, he's on his parents house. Don't make him worry Seonmul ah"
"But you're sick !"
"I'm okay, I just need a few hours of rest. Go do your homework or watch TV" kyungsoo is back to his sleep.

Seonmul is getting worried, he goes to the kitchen, there's nothing to eat, he tries to search for medicine but there's none. He contemplates before taking his phone out to message the first person comes into his mind.

It's another morning in baekhyun's apartment. He's thinking of going to jongdae's house today. Suddenly his phone pings

Baekhyun is getting anxious. Worry that kyungsoo is sick, also worry that he is gonna meet kyungsoo again. His stomach churns on the possibility of kyungsoo not wanting to see his face especially when he's sick.
He bites his lips
"Ah fuck it!" He curses and take his car keys

He presses on the doorbell twice when it's opened by a little kid who immediately hug his legs
"Please help my dad"
"Hey, your dad's gonna be okay, I'm here now" he says assuringly
"Go wake up your dad and I'll prepare the food"
"Okay" and the kid runs to the bedroom

Baekhyun inhales a few times before making his way to the kitchen. He's really scared of kyungsoo's reaction seeing him.

But first, there's some sickness they need to take care of. He prepares the food and put it on the table
"My dad is too weak to get up" the kid comes

"Well, let's bring him the food" Baekhyun take a deep breath before entering kyungsoo's bedroom. He heard a cough making his heart trembles

"Dad, we're bringing you food!" Kyungsoo looks up and surprised seeing baekhyun in his room.

He suddenly get wary of his appearance now

Baekhyun notice the discomfort
"Sorry for being here unannounced but Seonmul asks me to bring food and medicines for you"
Kyungsoo glares unintentionally to his son
"Come on dad, let's eat, you're dying"
"Uhm I can wait outside if--"
"No, you need to help spoon feed him"

"Seonmul, I'm fine" kyungsoo says hoarsely
"Nope, your hands are shaking, your energy drained. Don't worry, baekhyun's my friend, he's a good person" kyungsoo stays silent

Seonmul signals baekhyun to sit beside the bed

So baekhyun does, trembling but he does it anyway.

He brings the tray of chicken porridge to his lap and starts feeding kyungsoo. He put the spoon in front of kyungsoo's lips, patiently wait until kyungsoo open his mouth

'this feels like old days' baekhyun says to himself
Kyungsoo never met his eyes the entire time. Only mutters a quiet thanks when he's done eating.
Baekhyun takes out the tablets and hands it to kyungsoo who took it readily
"Are you feeling better?" Seonmul says beside him

Kyungsoo nods and immediately lays down again
He closes his eyes. He felt a hand on his forehead, except it's not Seonmul's, its larger but he doesn't want to admit baekhyun is touching his forehead. His heart beats erratically. He felt damp cloth replacing the warmth of the hand

He silently heard the conversation while pretending to sleep

"Your dad's gonna be better, let him sleep"
"Thank you, baekhyun"
"It's fine. Sickness can be worrisome. Hey have you eaten?"
"Yes, a bread and a glass of milk"
"It's lunch already, let's cook something"

Kyungsoo heard the the door shuts close. He open his eyes
"Why are you here, isn't 5 years of torturing me are not enough?" He whispers quietly before going back to sleep

[Flashback]
Baekhyun always has kyungsoo as his priority but kyungsoo's not agree with it

"Hey I bring your favorite chicken porridge"
"Thank you baekhyun"
"Have you taken your medicine?" Kyungsoo shakes his head making baekhyun gasps
"I knew it ! You deliberately wanting to prolonged your sickness so that you could skip classes!"

"Don't be ridiculous baek, i just hasn't eaten yet. And I know you gonna bring me food"
"What a spoiled brat"
"Spoon feed me" kyungsoo insists
"You're a baby" baekhyun caresses his cheeks. He leans to it
"I'm your baby" kyungsoo smiles, baekhyun kisses his forehead

[Current time]

It's 1 am when kyungsoo wakes up without the headache. The first thing comes to his mind is baekhyun. He goes out to the living room only to witness baekhyun sleeping on the couch with seonmul on his side, also sleeping. The scene melts his heart

Two person he loves the most are cuddling on his couch. He slaps his cheek on realization
"You don't love him anymore kyungsoo" he tells himself
He goes to carefully take Seonmul and brings him to his room. Baekhyun shifts a bit but doesn't wake up.

Kyungsoo comes out with a blanket and covers him carefully. He looks at the face he never thought he really miss.

"he really looks skinnier" kyungsoo thought.
Unknowingly, his hand reach out to baekhyun's face but it hit him before he does
"I shouldn't be doing this" he sighs

Kyungsoo goes to the kitchen and make himself a warm tea. He stares on the table in front of him
"Uhm, I'm sorry I overslept" Comes a familiar voice making kyungsoo shivers
"I should go home" he sees baekhyun scratching his head behind his ear
Kyungsoo looks at the clock

"0205 am" it wrote
"Stay the night, it's late" kyungsoo says catching baekhyun off guard
"I-i don't want t-to intrude" he stutters
"It's the least I can do to thank you for today"

There's awkwardness filling the room
"Uhm okay, how are you feeling?"

Baekhyun doesn't know where the courage is from but he takes a seat in front of kyungsoo

"I'm feeling better. The headache is gone"

feeling even more brave, he places his hand on kyungsoo's head making the guy trembles
"Fever's gone too. I'm glad"

They sit in silence

"Why are you here?" Kyungsoo suddenly asks
"Seonmul asks me for help, so I come"
"I mean why are you here?" Kyungsoo presses on the "here" part.

Baekhyun knows what he's implying. He doesn't know what to say tbh

He never thought of confronting kyungsoo this fast, he's not ready. He decides to just come clean. He wants to be honest with kyungsoo
"I want to find you again"
"Why?"
"Because I miss you" they stare at each other
"Am I a joke to you?"
"No kyungsoo. Please let me explain"

"I got your message clean and clear. You left me for 5 fucking years without saying anything. That's pretty much says something"
"It was a stupid decision, I'm sorry, I was pressured by my father and I just need to leave. But I never stop loving you" Baekhyun says, eyes teary

"Is love that easy for you?"
"It's not. My heart keeps longing for you. I wake up everyday missing you and regretting to ever left you"
"Liar ! You're gone for 5 years baekhyun. Nothing. Not even a dust"
"I was scared"
"Scared of what?"
"I was scared you'll hate me"

"I do hate you baekhyun"
"I deserve that"
"Baekhyun "
"No I, I'm sorry for all the things I've done to you. I know I hurt you so badly. I was missing you so much that's why I decided to be back in town, but I'm scared to see you again, because seeing how much I hurt you and

how much you hate me, I don't think I can face it. But I deserve it. I deserve your hate. I'm such an asshole, even my father hated my guys. I'm sorry kyungsoo, I'll leave you alone, I'll disappear forever"

The slap on his cheek is expected but it still hurts

"Why are you keep deciding things so stupidly?" Kyungsoo shakily says
Baekhyun looks at kyungsoo with tears on his cheeks

"Kyungsoo please don't cry, I can't see you cry"
He reaches out and wipes the tears away. Surprisingly, kyungsoo lets him

"I was hurting so bad when you left me, I waited everyday for you to contact me, I live like shit until one day I start living again. I thought I am living well, but the day I saw your again, I just--" kyungsoo cries

"I'm sorry, I shouldn't be back. I shouldn't show up"

Baekhyun starts crying too

"The day I saw you again, I just realized how much I fucking miss you" kyungsoo says making baekhyun looks up to him, not expecting the words he heard

"I never stopped loving you baekhyun. Even after 5 years. Seeing you again reopen my wounds but--

It brings back the love I always have for you. And its so fucking unfair because you hurt me so bad"

Baekhyun is speechless with the sudden confession. Kyungsoo is always kind and understanding

"I don't deserve you heart, kyungsoo" he mutters hanging his head down

"I know it will be like this. That's why I'm scared of meeting you again. I don't want to see you cry. I shouldn't be back"
"What makes you think I didn't cry everyday waiting for you to comeback? Aren't you little selfish ?"
Baekhyun looks at kyungsoo trying to understand

what he's trying to say when he feels a warm hand enveloping his
"I'll be hurting even more if you left me again" kyungsoo says softly
"I really don't deserve you kyungsoo"
Kyungsoo reaches out and wipes the tears on baekhyun's face

"I know you well enough baekhyun, the day I saw you, you look so dull and even skinnier, that makes me realize you might be struggling from something too. You know I hate to see you like that. You know I promised to always be there through your hard time"

"you really loved me that much"
"I did. I do. It never changed"
"I'm sorry"
"Stop saying sorry"
"But I am. I don't know how to fix this. You're always there to tell me what's the right thing to do. Now I can't decide for myself"
"Do you want me to help you decide?"

Kyungsoo says softly while reaching out to sweep baekhyun's hair. Baekhyun nods
"Let's fix this"
"What?"
"Our relationship"
"How?"
"Let's forgive each other"
"But I don't deserve your forgiveness kyungsoo, I hurt you so much"

"I know, let's take things slowly"
Kyungsoo takes baekhyun's hand and bring him to his bedroom
"It's almost Dawn, let's sleep"

They lay facing each other on the bed
"Can I hug you?" Baekhyun suddenly asks. Kyungsoo nods and open arm.

Baekhyun moves to put his head on kyungsoo's neck
"I'm sorry" he mutters
"baekhyun, look at me"

Baekhyun lifts his chin, now they're breathing each other's air. It'll only take one push for him to kiss kyungsoo but he doesn't want to risk it, especially when kyungsoo being

so kind and considerate towards him
"We will fix this, alright?" Kyungsoo looks at him fondly it makes his stomach flips. He nods
"Thank you, I love you" is what he says

Then the warm lips touch his. It's been so long since he kissed those plump lips but it still feels familiar. It lingers for few seconds.
"Let's sleep" he pulls him closer

Kyungsoo wakes up in the arms of baekhyun around him. He could feel the soft breath behind his head. It's been so long since he sleep with someone beside him, and he feels giddy that it's baekhyun, his love life. All the memories of last night comes to his mind

They gonna fix their relationship. He's tired of hurting and he knows baekhyun's hurting too. He wants to understand what happened, he wants to view things in baekhyun's perception. He tries to wake away from baekhyun, he stares at the peacefully sleeping him, he's so vulnerable

When he's out from the bedroom, Seonmul's there watching the TV
"Good morning baby"
"Good morning Dad, you sounds happy. Did the fever gone?" The kid places his hand on his dad's forehead "Yup, fever's gone. Thanks to you"
"And baekhyun"
"Yeah, he is too" kyungsoo smiles

Seonmul raises his eyebrows
"What?"
"You don't sound annoyed"
"Why would I be annoyed?"
"Because you don't like my friend?"
"What? No, I'm not. You assume wrong"
"Hmm, it's okay , I'm glad you two make up"
"What?"
"Nothing dad, let's make breakfast"

"Good morning" baekhyun hesitates making kyungsoo and Seonmul look up to him from the table
"Baekhyun!" Seonmul runs and hugs him Kyungsoo is surprised with the scene
"Let's eat" Seonmul says
"Well if your dad's okay with it?"
" I make breakfast for you too, baek"

Baekhyun shivers at the name. It's been so long since he heard it, it tugs on his heartstrings. He looks at kyungsoo and kyungsoo smiles. Baekhyun falls in love all over again. Seonmul holds his hand and tug them to the sit beside him

"I thought you left, I didn't see you at the couch this morning"
"Uhm" baekhyun scratches his neck, trying to think of excuses
"He slept in my room" baekhyun and Seonmul widen their eyes at kyungsoo who eats nonchalantly
"On your bed ? With you?" Seonmul says

"Yes, it's basic courtesy to let the guest be comfortable Seonmul ah"
Baekhyun snorts at the explanation which makes kyungsoo glares at him
"You could let him sleep with me in my room, I wouldn't mind"
Baekhyun raises his eyebrows on kyungsoo

"well, it was late, I couldn't think of anything better, besides my head still dizzy" kyungsoo starts explaining "Relax dad, I'm just teasing you"
Kyungsoo glares and pinches the kid's cheek. Seonmul yelps and baekhyun laughs

"so what are we gonna do today?" Seonmul looks at his dad then baekhyun
"We?" Baekhyun asks
"Yes, the three of us, we're going on a date. Well you two are going on a date but I'll tag along because I can. Plus, you need to have my permission to be boyfriends"

Baekhyun and kyungsoo are both dumbfounded by Seonmul. They stare at each other. Awkward.

"Uhm, maybe baekhyun is busy"
"No he's not, he's not working on weekend, right?"

Baekhyun nods dumbly and kyungsoo clears his throat

"Right umm, I got some stuffs to settle on actually"
Seonmul pouts
"See, baekhyun is a busy person, he doesn't have time"
The way kyungsoo says it doesn't go well in baekhyun's ears. Almost sound as if he's implying something

"Well, I could make time for dinner? Wanna play a game?" Seonmul perks up at this
"Yeay! I like game"
Baekhyun looks at kyungsoo
"Only if youre okay of course"
"It's a date then ?"
Baekhyun trembles. He bites his lips
"Only if you want it to be"
"Well, do you?"

They stare at each other for a good minute
"uhm I'm still here you know, please cut all the tensions and date already"
Both chuckles
"Your son is really something else"
"He is"
Seonmul groans at the comments
"I should get going now, thank you for breakfast"

Kyungsoo sends him out . When they're outside the door, kyungsoo hugs baekhyun
"Thank you kyungsoo for giving me a chance"
Kyungsoo looks up to him with arms still around baekhyun
"So, I'll see you at dinner?" Baekhyun chuckles

Feeling a little brave, baekhyun kiss the corner of kyungsoo's mouth
"It's a date" baekhyun says
Kyungsoo gulps before taking baekhyun's face and pulls him for another kiss. Baekhyun opens his mouth due to the shock allowing kyungsoo to deepen the kiss

Both kisses like they mean it. All the longingn, they redeem with the kiss. Baekhyun reangle their head and deepens the kiss.

They parted for air and smiles at each other. They once again have a long hug before reluctantly said goodbye
"Text me when you're home" kyungsoo says, smiling

Maybe things can be fixed after all.
