2/9 In response to some of your suggestions & articles that say a #COVID19 tracing app wouldn& #39;t harm Canadian privacy & security, I have more to contribute in the following posts #CDNpoli

RE This, see entries 3-9 in this thread https://twitter.com/SteveRickettsSP/status/1249081743191097344">https://twitter.com/SteveRick...
3/9 It& #39;s written by someone in a conflict of interest, with no experience in privacy, security, &/or health data issues. The author stands to gain financially from posting what he did. Also, Case is a game developer & Troncoso thinks the cloud is secure

4/9 What they failed to research & share is that Canada& #39;s e-health records are already unsecure & we have an epidemic of hospitals falling prey to ransomware for their entire patient databases. This #COVID19 program would increase vulnerability by exponential magnitude #CDNpoli
5/9 They also fail to mention everyone working at a tech firm involved in the proposed #COVID19 tracing app will be able to see patient messages in an unencrypted form. Hasty & unregulated, we have no control over what they do with our private info & no legal oversight in Canada
6/9 Those people in tech firms include everyone employed at Google & Apple

Google& #39;s biz model is to profit from selling our private data & they were banned from working in Canadian e-health because they store their data in the US where Canadians have zero privacy/security rights
7/9 Whereas Apple is located in China, where no people have privacy or security rights

Canada & the United States remain locked in a bitter battle with no end in sight, regarding the Chinese govt& #39;s control of all biz data in its country & constant theft of our data + hacking
8/9 Canadian privacy & security, especially regarding e-health & banking, is a topic I& #39;ve been working on for 12 yrs

I bet you didn& #39;t know Canada only has 25 officers even able to investigate breaches across our entire country & that 99% of cases are ignored due to no resources
9/9 Moreover, this represents mission creep for govt surveillance. Although police can& #39;t investigate our countless privacy breaches that have no criminal consequence, this COVID19 tracing app constitutes manufactured public consent to circumvent Charter rights & need for warrants
