We can use more recent data to break down the hospital deaths. Yesterday’s updated ICNARC report has 871 deaths in intensive care. That can be compared to yesterday’s DHRC total of 8,958 COVID-19 deaths in hospital (so c10% died in ICU). 2/3

As noted, ICU admissions won’t be entirely representative of hospital population. Given capacity constraints, admission limited to those with better chance of survival? Still, it’s best data I’ve seen and shows most ICU patients were not severely ill before contracting COVID-19.
