War and post-war generations:
1939-51 - Lost gen
1952-64 - Baby boomers
1965-77 - neXt (Xgen)
1978-90 - millennials (Ygen)
1991-03 - centennials (Zgen)
2004-16 - Wgen
2017-29 - (?)

🧵
Lost gen (1939-51) - a decrease in birthrates because of the 2nd World War.

Baby boomers (1952-64) - generation born after the war when the world started to reorganise, there's a boom in birthrates.

NeXt (Xgen, 1965-77) - they grow in a cold war scenario basically.

🧵
Millennials (Ygen, 1978-90) - 1st gen to grow up amidst electronic equipments, the Y is also a metaphor for their headphones. They entered the job market in XXI century.

Centennials (Xgen, 1991-03) - 2st gen to grow up amidst electronic equipments. They're a bluetooth gen!

🧵
Wgen (2004-16) - 1st gen to be born and grow up in the new millennium. They are fully immersed in a digital society.

(?) (2017-29) - 2nd gen to be born and grow up in the new millennium, it is still developping.

🧵
Generations happen to change every 12 years, since we need a period of 2 years to in between them, where changes happen. Individuals in the threshold of a generation may have features of both generations.

This thread is a personal understanding on how human generations developped after the 2nd World War but please consider my ideas about the topic.
