THREAD: EVERYDAY SEXISM

A lot of men have this talent of pulling women down and trivialising their accomplishments; significant or mundane, their choices and their perspectives. I came across a number of posts of men saying that women get more likes because they are women.

I have nothing to say about who these men are but I can make sense of where it comes from. It is the mindset I and believe a lot of women come across in different ways. Like when I was at the top of a merit list, my university classmate told me that women were only

good with scoring high but never good with doing practical work or taking initiatives beyond books. It felt like a slap on all my hardwork and my high score seemed like something I had to be embarrassed about. I lost a bit of self respect and its been four years since

I am still recovering. I am sure the guy doesn't even remember. And unfortunately, this wasn't the only instance. It keeps happening. Their deep shit insecurity crosses new limits everyday, without them realising or them feigning ignorance.
