1/ I had a close call today. I was driving my Model 3 and it was raining heavily on the freeway. I hydroplaned and then spinned out. Ended up on the side of the freeway, stuck in mud... but luckily unhurt.

@elonmusk Feature request: automatic tire tread detection
2/ Would be great if Tesla could make a product where car drives over a thin mat in the garage and the mat does automatic tire tread detection.

Similar to this product:
https://www.hunter.com/inspection/quick-tread
3/ However, for Tesla's product it would be great if the tire tread results were integrated into the car's display and driver is notified if tire tread is too worn.

This would have saved my accident today. And this could save many future accidents as well.
4/ I know I'm supposed to check my tire tread regularly, but I got lulled into complacency partially because my Model 3 has had almost no need for maintenance over the past 28 months I've owned it. On past ICE cars I've owned I relied on oil changes to be told tire change needed.
5/ So it turns out after checking, my rear tires tread is worn so I will be changing all my tires first thing tomorrow.

I'm grateful to be alive.
