Many शैव hymns are such that they will attract the attention of those fortunate enough to go beyond the popular & easily available. Is it without reason उपमन्यु says,
“अप्राप्य तु ततोऽनुज्ञां न शक्यः स्तोतुमीश्वरः ।
यदा तेनाभ्यनुज्ञातः स्तुतो वै स तदा मया ॥ १०॥”
“अप्राप्य तु ततोऽनुज्ञां न शक्यः स्तोतुमीश्वरः ।
यदा तेनाभ्यनुज्ञातः स्तुतो वै स तदा मया ॥ १०॥”
“ईश्वर; if His permission is unobtained, it is not possible to praise [him]. When I am permitted [by शिव], then only he is praised by me.”
