I’ll never forget the one time my FB friend put an alert out for someone in my city who we knew in high school ending up being a registered sex offender. People in the comments said he was being too harsh for putting that post up.
Said yOuRe RuiNiNg tHaT guY’S rEpUtATiOn and this guy even commented you shouldn’t put him out like that but we should PrAy FoR HiM. Really????? That’s really your mindset???
It’s too fucking late at this point the man has been convicted in court. But wow. Some of these people who made those kinds of comments were the ones posting on being heavily involved in church and always posting Bible scriptures on Instagram LOL
I hope these people never ever become leaders in ministry. Good fucking job for putting yourself out there as being dismissive towards sexual abuse that happens in a church community which is a huge issue in many religious institutions.
I mean some of these people give off that vibe of trying way too hard to come off so goody two shoes on social media and every time I see them at church. I don’t fuck w/ then in general LOL but wow didn’t expect that type of level of stupidity
One of the reasons I refuse to be involved in being a praise music leader in churches with a big audience despite being asked to many times is cause of shit like this. Why the fuck would I sing/do music at a community where I don’t feel emotionally safe at?
Just a rant that was on the back of my mind, but decided to say it anyways since some people ask if I’d ever be involved in praise music.
I’m open minded to singing for church but it’ll be rare. Most likely for only small churches. But anyways, if you see this thread and you’re offended, you better check yourself. Ignoring it and inserting corny pseudo positivity/Bible scriptures isn’t going to solve it
If you see someone at your community doing or saying socially sketchy shit, confront and call ‘em out!
