Somebody with zero epidemiology training will wake up and say that Nigeria's response to the #COVIDー19 is too aggressive, is based on a western model and is killing the economy.

Lol. Would you have an economy if millions of your people become ill and die?
Nigeria has had one of the most measured and appropriate responses to #COVIDー19. Isolating all cases from day 1, contact-tracing quickly and comprehensively, and only contemplating a lockdown when community transmission was afoot.
Should they have quarantined all recent travelers, rather than ask them to self-isolate? Maybe. It may not have been politically popular at the time, and we may have been talking about civil liberties being trampled upon.
If you're wondering what Lagos could be without any of these steps being initiated as quickly as they were, just take a look at New York. 2,000 people died yesterday. Then remember that the whole of Nigeria has a fraction of the hospital beds and health-workers that New York has.
Nigeria has done very well. It may look like overkill, but the alternative is worse and unconscionable. Imagine what unmitigated spread of #COVID19 in the slums of Lagos would look like. Badia, Ajegunle, Makoko . . .Nigeria's only defense is prevention. Unless you think that's ok
This is not the time to abandon ship or begin to poke holes in the key elements of @NCDCgov strategy. NCDC has done great work and are addressing the gaps in their strategy - making testing more accessible, revising testing criteria as necessary. Lets support the team!
If you’re wondering why I say Nigeria has done well with controlling the spread👇🏾
