I had a moment of clarity where i realized the same liberals who were outraged that republicans would acquit trump are probably now saying vote blue matter who
I guess i have to say it at some point so: yes, i understand the american system and that there must be one winner of these two fuckers and that biden is the preferable outcome
However i find it extremely silly to act like any criticism of biden, especially in response to the wildest demonstrations of blind obedience to him by his supporters, is an attempt to get anyone not to vote for him
Like, there’s this thing called criticism, and it’s sometimes called “constructive”? It’s bad enough that biden thinks he’s owed your votes, which means you already have a lot of inertia against you if you want to push him on any issue, but if you won’t even acknowledge-
-that there’s any pushing to do, you won’t get very far.
And yes the newest thing being about climate is fitting because it turns out that while yes trump can and likely will make things a lot worse for everyone if elected again, if no pushing happens with either of them, we’re all fucked anyway before i die of old age.
Like yes it is a form of privilege to even get to think about the “long” term of *checks notes* less than half a life expectancy, but it’s still worth talking about?
Problem is, Everyone who can be moved by the argument of “trump must be out” is already gonna vote, you kinda need to reach out to all the others and “hey actually trying to prevent climate disaster might be nice” could be one way?but no instead it’s a knee jerk “but trump”
