I’ve been on a Zoom happy hour for the past 2.75 hours and the group of 2 dozen has been dominated by the ER nurses, OBGYN and veterinarians which is just fine by us
But the woman who’s talking now as I’m typing this keeps telling us how important the rest of us are — in finances the arts - because when she gets home she doesn’t want to think about what she’s just done, she wants to take dance lessons and go on Facebook
And she’s trying to tell us we’re just as important because Life Goes On
“I signed up for this. I’m doing my job,” she says. “I’m tired of talking about how I’m on the front line, you guys are all just as important.”
It’s Friday night. We’re all happy to see one another. It’s been years for many of us and the first of these Zoom hangouts for some and here’s this perspective that you wouldn’t expect
“Nobody signed up for this,” she keeps telling us. “Just because you’re not on the front lines doesn’t mean you’re not sacrificing. Everyone is contributing. You are making people’s lives better and that’s what this time is about.”
“So thank you guys,” she says.
That’s it. That’s the #nightlyreminderat9 night 24

Focus on what you can control, focus on what brings you meaning, focus on how you can help others.
If we all do this we can stay clear headed and ensure things don’t get out of control, become prolonged.
