I'm looking at the awful scenes from Wisconsin where people were forced to vote in person in the middle of a pandemic.
It's not right that people have to choose between their health and their right to vote. Here in AZ, we’re facing warnings that COVID-19 could continue through the fall, including during the November election. (insert the pics) I do not want this to happen to us.
Expanding vote by mail has been endorsed by leaders in Arizona from BOTH parties. We have Republican Governors and other elected officials who are exploring the expansion of vote by mail in their states. Why not Arizona?
Our legislature needed to take action before they adjourned to make sure that every Arizonan has a chance to vote by mail. This would also help preserve in-person voting by making sure every eligible voter could safely cast a ballot.
However, even with bipartisan warnings, they took no action on vote by mail, leaving Arizonans potentially at serious risk when they vote in the fall. Our legislature needed to ensure that we were ready to hold an election in a crisis,

and they failed.
If we had a different legislative majority, we could have taken action by now to protect Arizonans’ right to vote. I am outraged by our legislature’s inaction & even more motivated to get our message out now. Go to https://www.christineportermarsh.com/  to learn more about my vision for AZ
