If you truly believe in yourself and haven't been nominated for a specific cabinet position yet, there is nothing wrong with nominating yourself

For those who vote, please don't vote just based on who you know. Being as informed as possible (debates, speeches, etc ..) is important in order to vote for who you think can truly do the best for the position and future of the org

As a candidate, if you ever feel like you need to drop out for any reason, there is nothing wrong about doing so

These are thoughts I felt like sharing this (akbayan) election season. I don't claim these ideas and or opinions to be the best or most important things to know

And I don't claim to be the best person to say these things, but I do care for akbayan, it's members, and the success of both

I also don't claim these to be original ideas that I have thought of, as most of them are parts of what have come from other people already, but I do believe in these ideas

I knew many of these things before, but I wish I had understood or taken them to heart more, as it may have helped me be a better cab member

This doesn't mean I regret running for/ doing cab because I don't, and I would do it all over again if I somehow ended up back to 2 years ago

Know what it would mean to be a cabinet member and be in that position, and what that would entail. This can be found in multiple ways

A cabinet member is a student first, and a person even before that

Know how cabinet could possibly affect your life, both the benefits and drawbacks (school, work, other activities, and aspects in life)

Please run with good intentions, especially for the org. Being honest with others AND yourself is important. Cabinet is difficult, and if you're not doing it for the right reasons, it can and probably will be more difficult for you next year

With current school and health circumstances, cabinet may be more different and difficult next year compared to previous years, but that may make the next cabinet even more essential to the success of the org and it's members

Next year might be a challenge, but rising to meet it could be a great benefit to many people
