I’ve been doing it for a few years and haven’t started an Etsy store yet, but I’m going to list my completed pieces here to help pay the bills. You can DM to let me know if you’re interested in one. I accept PayPal and CashApp, and will ship within 3 business days.
Prices vary based on size, the original value of the item, complexity of the repair, and how well the final product came out (how well the joints line up, etc.) Basic shipping charges included in the price shown.
ALL items come with the following disclaimer:
Piece is NOT dishwasher/microwave safe. It is intended as decoration only and is NOT food safe. Wipe with damp cloth to clean. Using detergent or cleaning supplies may alter finish.
Ready? Here we go.

I have several more in varying stages of the process.
A “simple” mend, or a piece with only one or two repaired joints, still takes about a month, start to finish.
Much of the kintsugi you find for sale on Etsy is done using hot glue/super glue and paint. I do not take these

shortcuts. I use the traditional, urushiol-based materials & method in ALL of my work.

of what stage they are in.
This is the initial part of the process. I use painters tape to protect the rest of the piece from the harsh materials. These will cure for 7-10 days in a warm, humid environment.

These pieces have cured, but still need to be cleaned of excess material before the next stage. It’s a long process. The pink one will take an hour or more, the one on the right, probably 2+ hours to clean without damaging it. (This is why I started protecting it with tape!)
Cleaned and ready for the next step!
The joints will be painted with a thin line of urushi to prepare for the sparkle!

These items have been dusted with the gold material, and will need to cure for another 7-10 days to allow it to set fully.
Then they will be cleaned up and added to this thread, ready to go!

On weeks when I’ve been doing the last step, I find this gold stuff on everything within a 6 foot radius of where I was working. It also hangs in the air for a few minutes, like the most beautiful dust in the world.
Urushiol
So that’s my thread for today. If you’d like a piece, please comment or DM me! I’m hoping to help fill in my financial gaps by selling my work while I’m furloughed.
Since the materials used contain urushiol- which is from the poison ivy plant- my ability to work on kintsugi

is limited by the current availability of gloves and other protective items. I have enough to keep going for a bit, but may end up having to stop if gloves remain unattainable. I will keep posting finished work here as long as I am able.
