They liken NHS staff to soldiers fighting in existential wars.

It basically amounts to taking the heroism and romance of martial culture, removing the warriors, and replacing them with doctors and nurses.

Not for a second do I want to downplay the importance or the challenges of what people in the medical profession do, but this is the product of a society that has lost its fucking mind.

And that has been engineered from the top down.

The poem, read by Christopher Eccleston, also talks about the NHS defeating the virus.

I mean, not to slight the individual efforts of those working for the NHS, but as of the most recent figures I can find, nearly a thousand people died, and we're now at nearly 9000 total.

I mean, "let's worship our substandard state healthcare provider because having state healthcare is the pinnacle of civilisational achievement."

No. For a European nation, outstanding state healthcare is absolutely nothing to brag about, so the current shit show certainly isn't.

If we were free and able to work in our own interests, we'd be on our way to colonising other fucking planets.

Being able to provide all our people with the best available healthcare via the state is not something to brag about. It's a bare fucking minimum, and we don't have it.
