[Thread] The time my friends and I got drunk on our last day in Chengdu, we almost died and got locked outside our dorm

I lived in Chengdu for 2 months for a school exchange. It was my first trip without my family AND my first trip in Asia

It was with my class and the trip was horrible. Our dorm was the nastiest building I've ever seen in my life. Mushrooms + mold in the room. It was dusty af and I'm asthmatic so it was a big YIKES

Basically we got the building for ourselves and some other exchange student. The rules were simple. You could do whatever you want but at midnight the gates were CLOSED. No one can go out no one can get in

We were located in the university campus. We got our classes there and it was like 20min away from downtown with public transportation

Now mind you I'm not a model student. I felt stuffy real quick so me and my group of friends quickly ditched our classes to go downtown and have fun

That's when I got chased by a weird chinese man but that's another story lmao

It was during summer btw. So we didn't took this summer class very seriously and got out every single night going to bars and stuff. Like what a 20 yo girl would do

We went to bars and such but we wanted to try the REAL night life. Some friends told us it was kinda easy to come back to the dorm past midnight all you had to do was... Open the window from an unoccupied room in the ground floor and get back inside after hopping the fence...

My innocent asswas like nooo. That's not good, it's illegal we could be in trouble etc. But the devil in me was like

So we did it

Our first night out was legendary. We took care of everything. We let the window open. We hoped on the fence and we were ready to go.

My dumb ass wore a skirt that night but it was good I was still athletic back in the day... We came back at 4 am. The window was still open and we were happy to see this whole new world in front of us

Btw night clubs in China are really great we went to one managed by Nigerians so I lived my best life. We also encountered some gang members who scared us but thinking back it was aight

We went out almost every weekend. Still leaving the window open in the unoccupied room, hoping the fence and coming back at 4 a.m like it was nothing

Now it was too good to be true. There comes the hot German guy in the story.

The German guy was HOT, like not the boring white guy hot but the HOT white guy hot. He got in the dorm the week before our departure. My best friend started thirsting on him with a chick thinking he didn't speak french but MIND you he was fluent in it

Now I don't know if most german guys are like that. But the dude and his friends were like nice. Way too nice. (He didn't want to kill a big ass spider.) As we got to know each other we started trusting him. Now you see where this is going...

He complained about the fact that the curfew was at midnight, he couldn't go out. So we gave him the tea. We told him everything about going outside, which room to open, which fence to hope on. EVERYTHING

We finished our class, our trip was coming to an end and most of the people went back to France except my group of friends.

My friend hooked up with the owner of a bar downtown so we decided to go there for our last night. Our flight was at 11 in the morning so we had a plan

We go out at like 7 p.m, me and my best friend would go back to the dorm at 10 p.m to make sure the room was still unoccupied, prepare the window so we could go back at 2 a.m, do our luggage, go to sleep and take our flight well rested

WELP

We went to the bar. Me and my best friend walked in. And I SHIT YOU NOT. The owner was a Taecyeon look alike.

He was talking to us, offered us drinks and we were like

By 9 p.m we were tipsy. But it was time to go back to the dorm. 1st red flag. My dumb ass and her got on a taxi nearly DRUNK to go back to the campus which was 20min away.

There was 2 campus in town and our chinese pronunciation was not it to begin with. But when drunk??? It was a nightmare. I tried to stay as alert as I could but... We saw a Taecyeon lookalike so we were still thirsting over him

I was in the passenger seat and I was listening to my bff literally talking about how he might have abs and shit. When I noticed the taxi was going in the wrong direction...

THE WAY I SOBERED UP REAL QUICK. My chinese was TOP NOTCH. I said sir go back to the university it's the wrong campus.

He got back to the right direction. And we nearly got in a accident bc the mf was driving FAST in a little street. I was like bitch am I going to die?

You wanna know what my bff was doing? STILL THIRSTING OVER HIM LIKE BITCH CAN'T YOU SEE WE MIGHT'VE DIED HERE??

Anyway we got back to the dorm, she sobered up and we went to open the window in the unoccupied room.

We did our stuff and met the gatekeeper. He was like hey are you going out? Be careful we will close the doors at midnight and we were like yeah we know

Then we met the german guy. He was like, hey you guys really shouldn't do the things you're doing that's really bad. We were like yeah we know

Everything was good... really. It was going all according to the plan... ExceptWeAlmostDiedBcWeWereThirstingOverADude but hey it was fine

So we got back to the bar and enjoyed our last night in Chengdu. The bar closed, we went to buy street food, everything was ok.

It was 2 a.m when we took a taxi back to the dorm. We went on a last time stroll around the campus to remember the good times before having a good night sleep....

We went back to the dorm, hoped the fence and got to the window we made sure was open before going back...

It was closed

I definitely opened the window before... And it's the right room... What's happening?

We were looking at each other like. What are we going to do??

Let me remind you our flight was at 11 so we had to be at the airport by 9 in the morning.

My friend had the brilliant idea to force open the window. And our dumb asses agreed to it....

He tried one time, it didn't work
A second, nope
A third? Yeah still no

So we tried another window which was slightly opened but still locked

We forced it, it did work... But we heard a big scream inside the room.

THE WAY I RAN FOR MY DEAR LIFE

We got to the family mart next door and waited there. We all agreed to like, stay put and wait bc they might've called the police.

We waited an hour and decided to try again (nah looking back how dumb were we??)

We tried to open the first window again. IT WORKED!!!

We were really happy to finally go back to our room, have a little sleep (it was 4 a.m) and go back to our country

We got on the room and tried to open the door...

Now. We got 2 choices. Either we:

- Stay in this room, sleep in it and enter by the normal gate risking everything
- Wait for the gate to open at 6 a.m do a quick nap then go back

Welp we took the later. Btw we didn't have any other issue because everyone we knew was gone and we thought the german guy snitched on us and conspired with the gatekeeper to keep us out so we were really doomed

Now we had 2 hours to kill. We went to the Family Mart, but we got bored, we did another stroll in the campus, we met a soldier who had his gun but he was sleeping so we sat in front on him and waited

It was finally 6 a.m we got in front of the gate but we didn't want to meet the gatekeeper just in case he snitched to the police and everything. We got careful not to make noise as everyone got back to our room.

My luggage was already done (thank God) so I took a 2 hour nap before going to the airport and voila. End of the story

Moral of the story: don't give information to people you just met. They will fumble your bag
