Reading through Sweetbean's comics, her problem seems to be narcissism. She routinely portrays everyone around her self-insert as bad people, when viewed as an outsider their reactions to her are quite normal and understandable.
For example, she published a comic in which she's bullied by cis males, and so she goes home and writes "I really hate cis people today" on Facebook. Naturally people in her comic react poorly to this statement, because besides being a generalization, she provided them no context
The takeaway is supposed to be that straight people are insensitive to trans suffering, but from their perspective, without knowing that she was bullied for being trans, it comes off like a mean-spirited attack instead. But they're in the wrong, not her.
This is a theme that is prevalent throughout her work. We're supposed to see her character as being morally correct in everything that she does, while people's completely normal reactions to the often horrible shit she does is supposed to make them the bad guys/gals.
This is apparently how she views the world around her, if her reaction to the blowback for her most recent comic is any indication. Everything she does is morally justified, and everything that happens to her is something done to her rather than a consequence of her behavior.
It would explain why she continues to make these comics despite that blowback. She simply lacks the capacity to meaningfully understand what it is that people take issue with, because to her mind she's the infallible center of the entire universe.
I have no investment whatsoever in what happens to this person one way or the other. I was motivated to read through her back catalog for context since everyone's talking about her, and it turns out that this shit's nothing new. She's just that socially stunted.
There are things in her comics that could fool you into thinking she's got even just a tiny bit of self-awareness. Those comments her self-insert received in her bullying comic, for example.
They seem like an acknowledgement that a person lacking context might see her comments as hateful, but as you read more of her work you come to realize that she actually seems to think that cis folks should just take hate-speech in stride because trans folks have it hard.
To her mind those weren't uninformed people who mistook her intent due to lack of context, but rather, they're people who should have encouraged her regardless of that lack of context because that's what she feels she's owed.

It's all pretty fascinating.
