Remember in the 90's in elementary school when nobody used the term "make out," instead electing to use "French kiss"?

I suspect part of it was because we hadn't gone through puberty yet, so we didn't really have the desire to make out. Therefore, calling it French kissing reflected how gross and foreign it sounded.
