Oregon needs to close #PDX airport (to prevent those in pandemic-affected cities from bringing #COVID19 here) and then reopen the state as follows. 1/
1) Designate which hospitals will continue to treat covid patients
2) Reopen all other healthcare facilities and practices to non-covid patients, as soon as there are enough surgical masks to provide one to each patient.
2/
3) Reopen all state parks, trails, etc to the public, with a caveat that citizens should continue to practice social distancing, step 6 ft off trails to let others pass, and wear a mask when running within 25 ft of others or when hiking with friends not in your household.
3/
*Without scolding or shaming*, start a public discussion via news & social media of health conditions that present added risk if you do get infected + steps to mitigate that risk, including quitting smoking, learning to cook healthy meals, going for walks & exercising at home. /4
Re: reopening businesses, post basic guidelines online about what conditions need to be met to make for a #COVID19-safe workplace, and then let each business post online their own plan of how they intend to meet/exceed those guidelines, so that they can share best practices. 5/
Determine which businesses are most crucial to Oregon’s economic recovery, and then ask them what additional help they might need to bring their workforce back. For example, with schools closed it may be necessary to help arrange for childcare, meals included. 6/
