Guard at checkpoint wasn't happy about me buying milk, he said I should be buying lots at one time with the weekly shopping and freezing it. Full-fat milk does not freeze well (skimmed or fat-free would freeze alright but I wouldn't touch either of those with a 6 foot bargepole)

I didn't expect this to blow up. I wonder how many people defending the guard would be acting as grocery police and denouncing 'stockpiling' if they saw a shopper buying 14 litres of milk (week's supply for us) in one single purchase? Many supermarkets now ban bulk buying anyway.
