Since my earnings are very low for a westerner, I rarely feel exceptionally privileged, but right now, I do. I live in a beautiful house with a gorgeous garden, thanks to some old friendships (I couldn't afford it otherwise). My housemates are deeply kind & loveable & great cooks
I'm not cash rich (my income is around 1/2 that of most Brits) but every single day I count my blessings because home is a lovely place. I used to complain about the British weather: I prefer the tropical heat & lushness in which I grew up. I don't think I ever will again.
Every single day of this lockdown I have thanked the universe for the blessings showered upon me. I love my home & I feel deeply saddened for those who don't. I know how that feels. There but for the grace of god...
I love London; I love this part of East London; I love this part of town; I love this house; I love my bedroom. I will never take this for granted. Blessings upon blessings.
