I thought I was afraid until I went to Walmart.

It was so bad that after I got home & decontaminated everything/myself that I just sat on my bed crying for 20 minutes.

I don& #39;t know where to even begin to tell this story, but it was bad.
We pull up. The woman driving mentions that they& #39;re supposed to be limiting how many ppl are in the store. I ask if they are.

"Girl...." told me everything.

They were counting ppl on the way out. Not in though.

Walked in. Packed like normal.
Start out by grabbing some wipes & sanitizing my cart.

An older woman walks up, and tries to take it from me.

Me: "Ma& #39;am, this is my cart."

Her: "Oh I thought you were doing that for me. Don& #39;t you work here?"

And yes...she was.

Had to re-sanitize the cart.
I get in, and there& #39;s NOT even a concept of "social distancing". Like not one iota.

Even Walmart staff are zooming past me with a few inches to spare...stocking stuff over my head & next to me as I& #39;m trying to grab soap.

Me: Can you back up?

Them:
On to the aisle with shampoo. Another associate walks past and I ask if they& #39;ve had a chance to restock alcohol.

"Yes ma& #39;am. Just put out 5 bottles on the aisle there."

A woman next to him hears this, says "Ooooh" and takes off running.

She took all 5 bottles.
The shelves are stocked on some items, but the expected things were picked over. Toilet paper was there though.

But in the process of collecting all of my stuff, I& #39;m weaving between groups of people who are giving or creating no kind of distance between each other.
Some people had masks. Not the Walmart staff that I saw.

About 5 other people in the store had on gloves. Not the Walmart staff that I saw.

People are in there with their kids...infants...just grabbing stuff & putting it back...like normal...holding their babies.
I finally make it to the check out line, and the man behind me drops a glass jar of peppers. Glass barely missed me, but the pepper juice didn& #39;t. So yea...check my new perfume fellas.

I couldn& #39;t get home fast enough.
I thought social media gave me a glimpse into how NOT serious people were taking this pandemic in this town.

I really had no idea. It& #39;s way worse than I imagined. There was no sense of precaution.

Just business as usual, but a few ppl had cloth masks. Only difference.
Now, I am going to smoke & hope I can stop shaking from pure rage....and spend the next 14 days scared of every allergy cough.

Thank you all for caring & listening to my ordeal.

Hope your day turned out better.
