Preppers Guide to First Gun buying.

1)
Ok my Horse Warriors.

Many of you have requested this guide which is an addition to several others I have written.

Why?

Because the Corona snuck up on all of us and a lot of you guys either did not have the "right" gun to protect your...
2)..family or did not think you needed one till now. Or did not have the money to buy one.

But with the stimulus checks coming a lot of you have contacted me privately with requests for help so you can buy the correct gun for you situation.

So let's look at what I know and ..
3)..what I believe. I am a career Infantryman. I started at age 17 and finished in my mid 30s. It was my life.

A pistol or rifle to me is not something cool. The different brands do not get me excited.

When I look at a gun is see the same thing a mechanic does when he looks...
4)..at a screwdriver.
It's just a tool. That's it. Will it do the job? Ok cool. I can work with it.

My view on civilians using guns is simple. Keep it very basic.

You guys do not have the training to apply advanced techniques and you no longer have the time to do it either so..
5)..I will keep it at a very easy to understand level.

You will have to use a firearm in 2 different scenarios.

A)Either in your home or other building.

B)At a distance. For you the length of a street or roughly 100yards or meters.

That's it.

Some of you may think you can...
6)..engage targets at greater ranges than this but a real gunfight is not the firing range.

You will be under fire. You will be stressed. Your targets will be hidden or moving. You will be shitting your britches. You have zero training.

Do not kid yourself.

Over confidence...
7)..will get you killed.

So let's start with an appropriate weapon. When I look at buying a weapon I look at 3 things.

A) A proven brand.
B) The right sized weapon for an environment.
C) The availability of ammunition for that particular caliber.

So let's break down those ...
8)..factors.

A) A proven brand.
So rather than go through all the different manufacturers I will give you a simple method.

Avoid the cheapest brands. You will see them. They are the cheapest for a reason and are usually unreliable.

Look at whatever gun you desire then find ...
9)..something in the middle of the price range. Do not bother with top end guns as they are not appropriate for your limited skills and you will be wasting money you could spend on ammunition or another back up gun.

That's it.

Nearly every brand out there makes proven great...
10)..guns except for the few at the very bottom. You will be fine.

B) The right sized weapon for an environment.

By right size I mean barrel length and caliber.
For instance if I am in a house my best option is a pistol or small carbine rifle.

This let's me fire ...
11)..in confined spaces easily and hold the weapon with one hand if i'm forced to fire around a corner

But if I have someone blasting at me from behind a car down the street 100 yards away or more then I want a Semi Automatic military style rifle to return fire. This gives me...
12)..accuracy at extended range as well as the penetration to go through the cover the enemy is hiding behind.

A pistol or shotgun at that range is useless in a gunfight. But that same full sized military rifle may handicap me inside a house if my enemy has a smaller weapon ...
13)..and can out manoeuvre me.

That's why we carry a rifle and a side arm. The side arm is not just a back up if my rifle fails. It sometimes becomes my primary weapon in tight confines.

C) The Availability of ammunition for that particular caliber.

Ok so this is a prepper...
14)..factor. If a war or other civil break down occurs where you have no more ability to buy ammo at some point your supplies will get low.

So you need to know that if you find a new supply or shoot an enemy that his ammo will be what you need.

For instance the chances of ...
15)..running into looters carrying a rifle in 6.5mm is extremely low. But the chances they will have rifles in 5.56mm or pistols in 9mm is extremely high.

Consider this when you buy your firearms. Don't just assume you will just take theirs and shoot them.

You don't know what..
16)..condition captured firearms will be in or if they even shoot straight. You won't find out till the next gunfight.

Lastly.
Do not buy a gun that is in a caliber too big for your body size.

You must remember that no matter how good your first shot is you have to deal with ..
17)..the recoil and regain control of your weapon and take another sight picture before you can fire accurately again.

For instance if you are a large guy like me and your primary home defence weapon you leave your small petite wife is a 12 gauge shot gun or 7.62 rifle?

You are
18)..setting her up to die.

The right gun is vital for the right sized person.

So for an average woman you should look for a pistol In .38, 9mm or the equivalent.

If you can handle bigger? Great. But most of you won't.

Forget about shotguns unless you are experienced and...
19)..instead get yourself an AR15 or equivalent in 5.56mm. They are short and great sized for your smaller frame and the recoil is minimal.

That's what my wife uses.

For guys you should consider the exact same. The factors are identicle.

You may think a .357 revolver is a ...
20)..great idea In an extended gunfight but you will soon learn that the military carry high capacity auto's for a reason.

You won't survive.

If you are a bigger guy like me you might consider buying a semi Automatic battle rifle in 7.62mm.

This gives you extended range and...
21)..much better penetration of cover than 5.56mm does. But these rifle are heavier and longer and can be cumbersome if you suddenly need to fight indoors.

In that case consider one that has a folding stock like my Scar17 that enables you to still fire it while folded.

There...
22)..are many different battle rifles on the market in 7.62mm. FN FAL, G3, M14. All great rifles. Sometimes older is better.

Lastly if you know nothing and just want a jack of all trades then consider the AK47. It was designed to be operated by a peasant and cleaned with a ...
23)..rock and although it is not the best in any catagory it is super reliable, reasonably easy to control and pretty common for ammo resupply.

But I don't carry one.

My last piece of advice is this. If you only buy one. Then get a smaller Semi Automatic high capacity rifle ..
24)..in the AR15 style. You will cover most situations superbly with a rifle like that.

That why the military carries the full Auto version.

Soldiers are not dummies.

You can pick up a mid range Smith and Wesson or Ruger AR15 with iron sights for about $600.

Good buyingđŸč🐮😉
