Backyard 2x2 update: after a two-day Passover vacation, we have our first sweep of the Isolation for the Dad-Boy3 team! Dad’s bulk and soft inside touch helped win game 1, but in an epic back-and-forth matchup it was Boy3’s ridiculous shooting touch that won the day, 17-15.

Backyard 2x2 update. Boy3 can f’ing shoot, kids. He and Dad were down 10-5 and then he went on a run and single-handedly brought us back to win game 1 15-13. Dad started hot in game 2 with some jumpers but it was Boy3 when it mattered leading to ANOTHER SWEEP. 4 in a row!

It must be added that Boy1der and Boy2cute did not collapse into bickering tonight (as they have been known to do) when facing defeat. Boy2’s midrange is lights out and Boy1der can jump over the house but Boy3 WOULD NOT BE DENIED TONIGHT.

Backyard 2x2 update. The early tip-off must have helped, bc Boy2cute’s midrange was deadly and Boy1der’s athleticism took game 1 11-8. Game 2 was a war of attrition, both both teams showing signs of fatigue and small lacerations. Dad and Boy3 pull it out 16-14.

Backyard 2x2 update: no basketball today. Too muddy in the backyard. Have I mentioned that our "court" is mostly mud and trampled clover with an uneven stone path and a back deck that prevents anyone from dribbling right?

Backyard 2x2 update: flurries (?!) didn’t stop us from another barn burner. Boys 1&2 came storming back from down 2-7 to take G1 13-11. But a stray rebound bounced off Dad’s nose and gave him the adrenaline edge in G2, 11-6. Split result, as per usual.

Backyard 2x2 update: Boy1&2 came out sluggish, dropping G1 4-11, but Boy1der started abusing his father inside to takeG2, 13-11. Split result.

Backyard 2x2 update: the trend continues with sluggish starts from Boy1&2, esp with FLURRIES ON THE COURT FFS. Dad and Boy3 stomp G1 11-4. But with a lot of goofy offbalance silliness the Boys recover to take game 2. Split result.

Backyard 2x2 update. Another slow start for Boys1&2, with Boy3 making backwards circus shots and Dad taking advantage of switches inside. 1113. But Boy1der was hitting his jumpers in game 2 and Boy3 went cold in the chilly air. 13-11, split result.

Shabbat backyard 2x2 during Mom’s shluff was a back and forth affair, close both games. Boy3 sealed game 1 with an upside down reverse, 11-9, but we strayed from our steady PNR in game2 and despite a furious comeback from 9-5 lost 13-11 on Boy1der’s 3.

Snuck in a backyard 2x2 while the rain paused, and Dad/Boy3 got off to a rousing 9-3 start. Boy1&2 were on the comeback trail when the rain started again, making Boy1's fancy footwork a sloppy mess. Dad/Boy3 take the single game, 11-8.

Delayed update for yesterday Boy1&2 recovered their composure to take rain-delayed game2.

Now for today’s backyard update. An unusually hot start for Boy1der’s jumpers, boys take game 1 11-8 despite a comeback from 10-3 from Dad and 3. Things were looking grim for a bit there but Boy3’s shooting and Dad’s ass prevailed in G2. Split result.

I officially need team names for Dad/Boy3 and for Boy1der/Boy2cute. Open to suggestions.

Backyard 2x2 in the blustery flurries favoured Boy1&2 in game 1, 11-5, and they took a 6-3 lead in G2 but couldn’t keep their shit together as their faces froze off. Dad/Boy3 11-7. Split result.

Backyard 2x2 update: a game of runs today. In game 1 we went up 8-0, they tied 8-8, we won 11-8. Boy2cute finally making his layups, helps them win game2, 8-11. Split result.

A barnburner in the backyard today! Everybody hitting their shots, nice passing & minimal brotherly shenanigans. Boy3&Dad jump out to a 10-5 start in G1 but 1&2 storm back to win 15-13. Game2 I start hot and we go up 10-4, fight off the jitters to win 11-8. Best games so far.

Good writing day = bad shooting day for Dad. Boy1der shakes and bakes, Boy2cute hits his jimmies, and Boy3peat can't rescue the team from Dad's galumphing. First sweet for the big boys! 11-5, 11-6.
