SWEET DREAMS (REMIX) - NICKI MINAJ
“Young money right here, bike here, throw it up, no high chair”

Nicki talks about throwing bikes up: popping a wheelie. She then compares it to a highchair which is a chair babies sit in and are known for throwing up in. It is well known that she has a thing for motorbikes.
“Cold like a white bear”

White bears are usually polar bears who live in the arctic, which is a very cold place. Also wheat beer (the drink) is known to look white and called white beer when cold.
“Freddy Krueger, I’m a rap bitch nightmare”

Freddy Krueger is the main character in the movie series; A Nightmare On Elm Street. In the series Freddy kills people in their dreams, which results in their death in real life as well.
Nicki has the same affect on her competition in the rap game that Freddy had on his victims- she kills them (musically speaking, of course). She also uses this metaphor on Ludacris’ “My Chick Bad remix”
“And I’m rich I could buy you. Kill bitches leave they body in a bayou”

Nicki boasts her wealth claiming she could literally buy her competition. Today, this isn’t a stretch. A bayou is an extremely slow-moving stream or river, which is typically found in flat, low-lying area.
Louisiana is a place very famous for containing bayou’s, so maybe that’s her little shout-out to Wayne on this track since he’s from Louisiana. Wayne even has a map of Louisiana tatted on his back
“More brain than an IQ, more head than a dread (my yute)”

A classic Nicki oral sex pun. Nicki gets more “brain” than a test of one’s Intelligence Quotient does. Similarity she gets more “head” than dreadlocks.
Nicki made a very similar line on “Roger That” (which Wayne is also on) saying:

“White girls tell me ‘Hey Nicki, your camp rules. Is that why you get more head than shampoo’s?’”
“And my bank account ain’t hardly empty, that’s why I come through in a Barbie Bentley”

Not hardly, considering her net worth is $100M. Even in her debut album year Nicki had accumulated $8M and quickly climbed as the years went on. They love to compare new female rappers but:
“Who’s next to go? My flows so flexible”

Nicki Minaj has some of the most intricate flows and rhyme schemes in the hiphop world. She rarely uses the same flow in a verse let alone on a different song. On “Feeling Myself” ft. Beyonce alone she had utilized 4 distinct flows.
“Get gassed then get at me: Texaco. Shoot yourself in the leg: Plaxico”

Texaco is a gas station company that was founded in Texas. Nicki is saying that her competitions heads have been filled with whatever lies that made them feel they could get at Nicki lyrically or otherwise.
Plaxico Burress, an American football player was infamously sentenced to two years in prison following an incident where he shot himself in the leg trying to stop his glock sliding down his sweatpants.
Plaxico was one of the best players on the New York Giants football team and was carrying an unlicensed gun in a club in New York City – there is a mandatory jail term for carrying an unlicensed gun NYC. He both figuratively and literally “shot himself in the leg”
Similarly, engaging in a rap beef with Nicki would be “shooting yourself in the leg/foot” which is a saying that means to do something without intending to which spoils a situation for yourself.
“White jag with the twisted lip, I ain’t Mike Jack but ‘This Is It’”

Michael Jackson’s posthumous concert film and soundtrack were titled “This Is It”. Nicki is claiming her position as the top dog in female rap & is letting the old girls know that their time is up. Tick tick.
“Boo I'm everywhere. You're like balloon boy, mama, you was never there!”

The "Balloon Boy" hoax occurred on October 15, 2009, when a homemade helium-filled gas balloon shaped to resemble a silver flying saucer was released into the atmosphere above Fort Collins, Colorado.
Richard & Mayumi Heene claimed that their 6 year old son Falcon was trapped inside it. Authorities confirmed the balloon reached 7,000 feet during its 90-minute flight. The event attracted worldwide attention but it turns out that this was all a lie and he was “never there”.
Nicki is comparing balloon boy to the female rappers of hiphop past in the sense that just like balloon boy was never really in the balloon, the old female rappers who hated on Nicki were never as impactful as they were made out to be. This is one of her most disrespectful lines.
“I am the Kung Fu Panda”

Nicki is known for making references to current pop culture in her verses which show life at the time of the songs release. In this verse alone she names Kung Fu Panda, balloon boy, This Is It by MJ & the Obama campaign all from late 2000’s era. Genius.
“Good for the goose then it’s good for the gander”

A pretty little double entendre:

1) The idiom in the line says that what’s good for one person should be good for another – Nicki may be referring to criticism about her image and style.
More specifically this line addresses the notion of equality of the sexes (goose and gander are female and male geese). Nicki often discusses her opinions on the disparity between men and women being allowed to express themselves sexually in the rap game as well as treatment.
2) In the bedroom if the females getting some good action, it’s going to be good for the man as well.
“Nicki ain't a rapper, Nicki is a brander”

Nicki has always made it known that she aspired to reach Jay-Z level mogul status. Her multiple endorsements, business ventures, investments & chess moves have definitely put her next to the likes of Diddy, Jay Z & Dre.

“ I go hard: pause. Hospital flow, get more gauze”

Nicki uses her & Young Money’s “Supa Dupa Flow” (Drake on Forever “I ball: Chemo”) & says she goes hard which is usually a euphemism for an erect penis so she negates the sexual meaning by saying “pause”. Also called hashtag rap
“I’m a bad bitch on all fours”

A ‘bad bitch’ is defined as a woman who is confident. She is independent and strives for herself. Nicki plays on the literal meaning of “bitch” which is a female canine.
“The president be like ‘ITS ALL YOURS’”

A nod to then president Barack Obama’s slogan and overall message to the PEOPLE! Heavily contrasted by the current presidents divisive, marginalizing language and message.
“Weezy and Nicki bring the A-Game : high stats”

It’s a well known fact that very few artists have amassed Young Money’s individual stats. No crew has amassed their group accomplishments. YMCMB has conquered the rap game. Nicki, Wayne & Drake have undeniably been running hiphop.
To have an “A-Game” means to perform extremely well, and it could refer to anything, such as sports or music. Nicki here refers to her and Weezy having “high stats” which is Nicki bragging about all of hers and Wayne’s accomplishments, such as awards and sales.
“Go together like Ricky and his eye patch”

Nicki compares her and Wayne’s musical chemistry to that of things that are seen as synonymous with each other. She first speaks about Slick Rick and his infamous eyepatch.
“Go together like a team in the gym”

She now uses the association of a sports team practicing in a gym as imagery for her & Wayne’s musical prowess and synergy. They work on their skills strengthening their pen game no matter how much praise they receive. Always room for growth.
“Kareem and the ring, the queen and the king”

This is in reference to basketball legend Kareem Abdul Jabbar. He is the NBA's all-time leading scorer with 38,387 points, and he won a record six MVP awards. He earned six championship RINGS in his career.
Nicki alluded to him while referencing Lebron James on “No Frauds”:

“They say numbers don’t matter, but when they discussing the KINGS, they turn around and say ‘Lebron ain’t got six rings’”

in response to people who claim stats and sales don’t matter only when convenient.
