Smartphone

The smartphone market these day has been boring.
It's because there are not any massive leap of inventions and it's because almost every brand that uses the same OS base is practically the same phone with diff brand and design.
Operating system. That is the bold line that splits the market. You can go either Android or IOS.
Both have their upper hand of course,
If you have an IOS based phone (Iphone), you'd get iMessage
If you have an Android, you'd get NFC.
Since there are new alternative, those features won't make a huge deal. So, i think OS for now won't be changing nor upgrading so much.
So?
The specs.
The specs is different. IOS user have their own chip, it's an apple exclusive custom processor, unlike the Android, they're using Snapdragon and other commercial brand.
The RAM, Apple is this underdog compares to Android RAM. Apple's top phone (11 pro max) is currently using 6gb.
Well Android, *clears throat* 32gb for infinix hot 6, 16gb for the S20 Ultra 5G. That's a huge gap, on paper of course.
But, in reality, in daily uses, is the 'pc' sized RAM really make a huge difference?
NO. Many users claimed that with IOS 6gb put next to Samsung 16gb, there are no much difference in speed and endurance. It's because the OS.THE OPERATING SYSTEM. IOS is known to have such efficiency rather than Android. Because of that, Apple is steady with Android. What then?
Design. That's what make them unique from each. Of course you have different design from each brands and models. You could get the basic 6" screen or you could choose the Plus Sized screen. You could choose metal finishing on the back or the glass.
Well, it's no much different. You would have a Full HD screen, maybe with a 144hz or 60hz screen. But, it's just a tiny bit of difference. If you're not paying attention that much, you wouldn't be able to tell. So? The exterior is done. What else?
Oh yeah, i know, ITS THE CAMERA. Brands are using multiple lenses to attract people. Yep, who thought you need 4 lenses on a phone? Duh, nobody. Each camera from each brand has it's own unique character.
Like from samsung, you'd get more brighter and strong color because Koreans love their color to be bright and bold. For Xiaomi who uses Leica lenses, it's more soft and warm. Apple, natural.
The quality of the camera maybe?
Most top-notch phone is capable to record in 4K60 fps, for S20 Ultra it even can record in 8K. The screen is only capable for 4K, how are you going to see it then? And it takes huge amount of storage. And personally, i would be happy to watch in 4K or 8K. But im cool with full HD
So, now developers are stuck. Because people know that for now, the phone market is boring. For now, it's for now.
