Alright alright alright, before we go into a weekend that's important for...so many reasons right now...let's talk about the winner of this little game called Taverns of Tiefenthal by @NorthStarGames.

But, well, you know what's coming here.
In typical fashion, we wanted to know which of the aforementioned Architect-friendly games people had played.

Of those who entered "only" 37% hadn't played any of them, which is fine. And definitely much lower than the previous group for a couple reasons that became apparent.
Of those who responded they'd played at least one, this one was almost lopsided in how silly it was, with a whopping 49% stating they'd played Wingspan.

This doesn't shock us. It was hard to not trip over the game in 2019, and quality gameplay + hype does speed exposure.
After that, it keeps almost dropping in halves, with Tiny Towns coming in at 24%, Taverns itself at 12%, On Mars with 9%, and Pipeline with 5%. (Clearly the entrants on this contest skewed towards the lighter Architect games.
Lowly Neom on the other hand was the only "I shouldn't be surprised but kind of am anyway" number with only 1%. It was quietly pushed out by ANA, had a lot of competition around the time of that release, and didn't really get a lot of attention. Still def work looking at though!
Next up, because Taverns is a game so so much modularity to it, we wanted some other suggestions on games with modular options or incremental gameplay.

Answers to this were voluminous and fit mostly into two categories: those that did that, and those with lots of expansions.
Which is, admittedly, a fair angle. So we ran with it.
Of all the many titles mentioned, the most common included Arkham Horror, Carcassonne, Charterstone, Clank, Dinosaur Island, Kingsburg, Legendary, Harry Potter HB, Thunderstone, and North Star's big hit of 2018, Quacks.

And many, many more. So many solid suggestions!
Finally, because Taverns is about tricking out your pub to invite clientele to stop in, we wanted to know what unique feature YOU would include if you owned your own tavern.

This one was, interestingly, less diverse than we thought it would be.
That's not a negative mind you. It's just just that most of the responses boiled down into three categories:

1. Those who said they'd include board games / gaming tables.
2. Those who'd specialize in specific kinds of food or signature food.
3. Everything else.
#1 was pretty amusing since it was the most common answer by far. And we'd love to see all of you succeed at it!
Other specific answer included various focuses on homebrews, taps at the tables, automated table serving of some kind (drones, robots, etc.), being pet friendly, & several themed ideas such as Steampunk or Douglas Adams.

Also having the table as a giant tablet was intriguing...
If any of those ever do manifest btw, let us know!
But we're sure you're getting pretty thirsty waiting around for us to deliver the goods. So here goes: the winner of Taverns of Tiefenthal by @NorthStarGames is @BenCobes! Congrats!
