I think my friends and others might feel obligated to watch my (admittedly) not always entertaining stream & I want to give some pointers about being a viewer.

Tiny thread

Twitch cares about two things from viewers: that you& #39;re there, & you react.

So: viewership & chatting, depending on what a streamer has set up.

-
Right now, I am supporting a friend by being a viewer.

"But you& #39;re on Twitter!"

Yep! Sure am.

This is how I "watch" most streams. It& #39;s okay to wander off, to make a new tab & check out social media.

Put them in the background.

-
We as streamers want you to *want* to be there.

H*ll, there& #39;s streamers that I absolutely LOVE but I still tab over to something else.

Just like I sit with friends in real life but I& #39;m on my phone.

-
As far as I know, maybe I& #39;m wrong, but I believe Twitch still counts your viewership, even if you& #39;ve wandered off.

As for chatting, I mean, as long as you respect a streamer& #39;s rules, please, chat it up!

Keep the conversation going!

Streamers rely on the community they& #39;re building.

So come support small streamers! Get to know possible friends!

Also, YMMV, etc.

But please don& #39;t think you have to sit there & be bored by your friend& #39;s stream https://abs.twimg.com/emoji/v2/... draggable="false" alt="đŸŒș" title="Hibiscus" aria-label="Emoji: Hibiscus">
