I write a weekly Friday email for our @FSSAIndiana team titled “Broken Pieces.” It is based on a Sir William Osler saying, “In the pursuit of ultimate truth we must be content with the broken pieces.” Today’s is not particularly profound, but I’ll share it here anyway. 1/
Living in the Questions

One of the habits I have picked up during our season of upheaval is writing a card every day.  I find that taking a moment to 1) collect my thoughts and direct them to someone & 2/
2) demonstrate gratitude have had a marked effect on my overall demeanor for a least a few hours after I write them.  https://abs.twimg.com/emoji/v2/... draggable="false" alt="😊" title="Smiling face with smiling eyes" aria-label="Emoji: Smiling face with smiling eyes"> 3/
I have had a slight obsession w/ @CurlyGirlDesign cards for a very long time and buying these cards in bulk is a guilty pleasure.  My last round arrived yesterday and her new ones are really on point.  This one I virtually send to you today: 4/
5/
I believe this card was inspired by the German poet Ranier Maria Rilke: 6/
“Be patient toward all that is unsolved in your heart and try to love the questions themselves, like locked rooms and like books that are now written in a very foreign tongue. Do not now seek the answers, which cannot be given you because you would not be able to live them. 7/
And the point is, to live everything. Live the questions now. Perhaps then, someday far in the future, you will gradually, without even noticing it, live your way into the answer.” 8/
We are living our way to answers during these hard days and weeks.  I am proud of the way that team FSSA is living.  We are selfless, we are generous and we are resilient. 9/
Happy Friday.
