I was there when he said somebody was going to betray him. None of us knew who it was. I too was surprised. I mean what kind of person would give a man like that away? The one who dined with those who were not accepted by the society, the one who walked on water, yet allowed
Little children to sit on his laps. The one who fed five thousand people with two fish and 5 loaves and yet defended women in a society that didn't care about them. The one who told a woman that she could choose to cook or listen to him, but it was her choice
Who? What kind of person would give away an exceptional man who is so easy to fall in love with? But as I was walking home, I met him; Judas. He was talking to the scribe who everyone knew was against Jesus. Then I just knew that it was Judas.
Judas! Well I'm not surprised. He's been stealing from the treasury. But that's not what this gist is about. It's about Peter. When Jesus said somebody was going to betray him, Peter was the first to jump up and say:"who master? Tell me" Jesus even told Peter that he
Would betray him. And Peter swore. He swore that he'll never betray Jesus. We are on the way now. I feel pity for Jesus. The tears running down his eyes, the blood dripping down his back and staining his garment. He has been whipped by the Roman soilders
There's a celebration in the crowd. The laughter, cheers and shouting. It was as if the Jews were lacking entertainment, as they were acting starved of it. Everyone was pushing him aside, as if he was not the one who fed them few days ago, as if it was not the same people
Who he taught weeks ago. Then I saw Peter. A woman looked at him, then turning to the people around her, she said:"he was one of them" and Peter said:"No! I don't know him" I was shocked. Then he moved away from there, as if, if he stayed there a bit longer, the crowd might
To do to him what they are doing to Jesus now. But, as he moved again, another man said:"this man was one of them" and Peter said no again. Thrice he said no. He said he didn't know Jesus. I just crowed. I didn't know when the crow escaped from my beak.
But Jesus just looked at Peter now. All I saw was understanding. He understood that Peter was scared. Peter has tears in his eyes. On his face is shame and disappointment. He's walking away. I'll try to give more update as this event unfolds.
