A perspective on the 🌹 brigade...

So as you know I have my opinions on Bernie Sanders. Why I feel he is the equivalent of malware bent on destroying the Democratic party. But what about his supporters?
Well this is my personal thoughts on the "revolution" or as I see them the biggest bunch of opportunists ever to troll online. You might ask Tyn why do you call them opportunists? Glad you asked.
I want you all to think about the last few years in politics. Especially amongst factions in the Democratic party. How many of us banded together under a candidate of choice. Some fans go hard for their candidate no group is immune of that.
But there was only one who seemed to truly push that only their candidate could save the world. The amount of devotion to campaign promises seemed strange but not as problematic early on.
Then after 2016 we saw just how out of touch with reality some of these die hard are. Including the strange belief that the DNC is some illuminati style group that can "crown" candidates and "rig" elections...
This opened up these die hards to a large group of opportunists. Folks looking to sell their brand, or build a base of followers on social media. They have a very simple series of steps to do this.
Step one: create or change your handle to pro Sanders. Have a rose icon. Tweet pro Sanders rhetoric for likes. Hope to lure people who dislike Bernie and argue with them for cred. If that doesnt work go to step two...
Step two: troll people online who openly support another candidate. The more noted said person is, the better. Why? Well more than likely this person will respond and highlight your tweet this giving you attention and cred.
I wont lie I fell into this trap a few times rt'ing replies to obvious trolls. I had no idea back then their true motives. But then I took a new stance of limiting responses and just blocking. I also started watching folks I follow threads for these people.
Which feeds to step three: Once they have a "beef" or back and forth with someone for not "feeling the Bern" and have built up their followers. They hit people up with their creative "projects" political runs, or just blatantly asking for cash.
Now I'm not knocking folks need for financial help. Nor knocking self promotion. But I take issue with those who do this while spreading political misinformation because they know Bernie's base will amplify them and give them money.
You may ask me Tyn what's your proof? Well Two failed primary runs is the major proof. But if you truly look at some of the rose brigades posts you see the patterns. One example last night that I read harassing @blackwomenviews by literally tagging her repeatedly.
Then went on to push his upcoming "show" likely a YouTube channel. And hes far from the only one doing this, and his comments were full of people showing devotional levels of support for him. When his history doesnt even show any real creativity.
Add this to the fact that for as loud and troublesome these people have been online. They never pushed voting initiatives. Did not turn out to vote. And it had me curious about this million strong "legion" of Sanders supporters.
And after a few months observation I've found more self/brand/campaign promoting. And barely any calls of political action. And a ton of virtual panhandling as well. And like I said before I dont look down on that I've had to ask for help myself.
But once again my issue are folks who will willingly lie and spread propaganda because they know Bernie fans will amplify and or come out of pockets to anyone seemingly down for the cause. These fakers are the main reason there is an illusion of a huge base of support.
In the end the Malware Messiah cultivated strong belief in his die hards that opened them up to clout chasing opportunists. Be wary of who you argue with on here or other social media sites. You may just be helping them build their base of followers to fleece.
