1. The resurrection is important b/c God’s power through Christ destroyed the bondages of sin. Christ returning proved that and paved the way for Christians to do the same.
2. Astrology was a method of keeping time throughout history. The Bible does not say studying https://twitter.com/camwhiteastro/status/1248373169108291585

the stars and moon patterns is bad, which is the basic foundation of astrology. Astrology in a way is a form of astronomy- what’s questionable is the belief that the stars and our signs determine our fate, as opposed to us having free will etc, which is why God says cool it
3. The blood and body is an important and intimate symbolism acknowledging the sacrifice Christ has made. Christ used stories and parables to share his thoughts. That’s exactly what He did at the last supper.
4. Not sure what this enchanting thing is but the whole point of Jesus was a direct bridge that atoned our sins so we could break the cultural traditions of anointing animals and making weird sacrifices and whatever.
Those practices were done to show our devotion to God as well as repent. I am sure there are many Christians from back then that did NOT do those things. Those covenants- which were formally broken with Christ’s death- were merely practices of devotion, worship, and forgiveness
I don’t expect everyone to believe in Christianity and in no means trying to force it on anyone. But what I can’t stand is when people make posts like this with NO explanation about what Christians really believe regarding these issues and the reasoning behind these things
Like gee, if I wasn’t a Christian and didn’t know the truths behind these general and misguided statements, I would NEVER want to learn more about this whacky cult thing. You don’t have to believe but we should genuinely learn other forms of beliefs before talking on them
Thanks for coming to my TED talk, Easter makes me super passionate
