Apple & Google& #39;s annoucement provides HUGE support for #DP3T against centralised solutions, which *no longer work* under it. The API they specify lets devices to query list of IDs they have seen, but NOT access them to upload them to a central server. https://www.apple.com/newsroom/2020/04/apple-and-google-partner-on-covid-19-contact-tracing-technology/">https://www.apple.com/newsroom/...
The specification they lay out for their own proposal is extremely close to the published #DP3T & #39;low cost& #39; design.
The consequence is that if the apps from the UK& #39;s NHS or German government want to work properly on new iPhones or Androids, people will have to leave them on (!) in their pockets.
(assuming they do not adopt #DP3T)
Here is a comic for how #DP3T works.
