So I’ve seen a lot of people out and about wearing latex/nitrile gloves.
Which.... is fine.
But here’s the thing. They aren’t magic.

If you’re touching something with gloves on, and then touch your:

•wallet
•phone
•bank card
.... then you’ve accomplished nothing. You may as well have left the gloves at home and just washed your hands.

In a lab, we use gloves to protect ourselves from dangerous things, and to protect our work from contamination.
We REGULARLY spray down our gloves with ethanol to prevent contamination. If you can’t do that, then the second you’ve touched something, your gloves are contaminated.

So if you feel better about wearing gloves to do your shopping, go ahead. But if you want them to have any impact whatsoever you need to STOP TOUCHING YOUR PHONE, remove them immediately when you’re done, and wash your hands.
