This bed is SO PRETTY and I am so pleased with it. My one ambition today was to weed some of it. I managed maybe a metre-and-a-half sq? Broke myself. But I chose was the worst bit of it, the rest is less grass, more chickweed and it holds no fear.
State of my so called "lawn".
I reckon I need another 2 sessions out there to have got the whole bed done. A few days' rest, and I'll do the next session.
The tulips are on their second year with no sign of flagging.

After I've finished the bit of bed I'm working on now (I'll need a few days rest and then I'll go out and do the next session), I'm going to skip doing anything to my "rockery" (that's this pic).
In many ways that will be the easiest - yet also the fiddliest bit to do. It is mostly planted up already. It can wait.

The next Big Project is to turn THIS into a bed like the one at the top of this thread. All grass and thistles now. It'll take me a while. Watch me. #gardening
One very heartening thing: the bit of bed I've reclaimed at the top of the thread was utterly riddled with bindweed. I was pulling it out of there like a fucking spaghetti farmer, double hand fulls at every twitch of the spade, and no sign of it lessening as I dug deeper.
