Just got a call on our hotline from a woman in Woods Cross who lost her job and is living in a hotel while she waits for her unemployment to come through on Monday. She has no food or supplies, and was sent to us from the mayor’s office when she called them asking for help.
This morning, the motel told her she had to be out in an hour or pay for an additional night. She’s high-risk and terrified of contracting COVID-19 and being unable to work. She called us, and with just $250 we’ve extended her stay and are setting up a grocery delivery for today.
Motel costs were donated by one of our organizers, and the additional $50 for groceries is from the mutual aid fund. She broke down crying on the phone, promising to pay it all back with her unemployment on Monday.

This work matters. Your support saves people’s lives.
When we get a call like this, we don’t hesitate. We’re lucky to have organizers who can front bigger costs, but donations you send in can help us reach even more people with groceries and emergency cash. Too many of our neighbors are living right at the brink of disaster.
If you want to help with these costs: https://twitter.com/madalenamcneil/status/1248659819700973568?s=21 https://twitter.com/madalenamcneil/status/1248659819700973568
We really can’t stress enough how much of a difference this network is making in people’s lives. None of it would be possible without your support, in whatever way you can provide it. Thank you for being part of this.
