Right now, parents everywhere are getting a crash course and reminder in why the work of educators is essential — and challenging. We’re all looking for help and resources, and realizing that while there’s a lot of wonderful stuff online, it takes teachers to bring it alive.
At @Hewlett_Found, we’re grateful to our open education grantees and all they have done to make #OER accessible and to support #teachers as they transition to distance learning during #COVID19. https://hewlett.org/resources-for-distance-learning/">https://hewlett.org/resources...
In the face of economic challenges, we’re committed to continuing to support open education and plan to maintain our 2020 budget. https://hewlett.org/an-update-on-our-covid-19-response/">https://hewlett.org/an-update...
We’re also reinforcing our commitment to this work in the longer term. Our new #openeducation strategy launched this month. https://hewlett.org/strategy/open-education/">https://hewlett.org/strategy/...
Since #OER’s inception almost two decades ago, we have invested in well-designed, customizable, openly licensed materials to enable more responsive teaching and better learning.
We now know that content alone is not enough. Without equal or greater attention to educators& #39; and learners’ experiences, we are not going to see #deeperlearning outcomes for students across the spectrum.
Our new Open Education strategy is focused on strengthening every student’s learning experiences by encouraging the effective use of open educational resources and practices. https://hewlett.org/the-next-phase-for-open-education">https://hewlett.org/the-next-...
This moment reminds us that materials must be designed to support every learner. We want to work with teachers and school leaders so they can bring their expertise to take advantage of the flexibility of open educational resources and practices for their communities.
