Strawberries are in bloom to red fruit stage right now. Blooms can be damaged around 30-32 F. Small green fruit are damaged at 28 F. This is the crop most likely to experience damage next week. Dry row covers should be applied early in the afternoon to protect the crop #uaexHORT
Blackberry buds to open blooms are damaged at 27 F #uaexHORT
Blueberries blooms and small fruit are damaged at 25-28F depending on the stage. Rabbiteye types can be damaged at 30F. #uaexHORT
Peaches are mostly post bloom and have small fruit which can be damaged from 25-28 F #uaexHORT
Grapes are at early shoot emergence. Early shoots will be damaged at 26-30F depending on the cultivar. #uaexHORT
All of these listed temperatures at which cold injury may occur can vary depending on the conditions, and cultivar. After the cold temperatures pass cold damage on open flowers and emerged buds will become evident within a few days. #uaexHORT
