This is where the thread should end in truth, what a nightmare it is trying to predict Gerard Houllier, hes actually less predictable than Claudio Ranieri Much like the Italian though one thing is close to certain, Liverpool play 4-4-2 home or away and only change the arrows
on their full backs, wingers and occasionally one CM. there seems to be no correlation on difficulty of opponent or home/away on that minor tweak. As for players, not only do the vast majority feature for between 20 and 30 games but they also change their position so often.
IE Riise can be LW or LB. Biscan can play RB, CM, RW. Smicer can play LW, RW, CM...... or they can of course be benched. You get the idea. There appears to be such variety in sims that even doing the average appearances is largely pointless as there are virtually no common themes
For example, Liverpool will sometimes buy a LB which greatly effects Riise / Carragher. Babbel sometimes gets sold to Bayern/another which again changes the dynamic. Barmby and Smicer are generally favored for the wing roles but usually sit between 20 and 30 app for the season.
Again victims of their own versatility. Redknapp, who has been starting at CM rarely plays more than 12 games a season and even Gerrard struggles to hit high 30s in some sims. He is the most nailed mid though. As for forwards, Owen is obviously first choice
but is highly injury prone in the game with 20/20 for that stat (currently injured again) which brings his average apps down to even below 30 sometimes. As for the other forwards Fowler is usually the go to partner but again the apps are not consistent across sims, he goes from
highs of 31 starts to 5 or below often enough to mention (seems to get unhappy in game quite a bit). Litmanen and Heskey are commonly around 20 starts but dependent on Owen injuries and Fowlers attitude more often than not as to whether they get games - both Litmanen and Heskey
can do pretty well in the game and look value IF they get a spot. If i had to put an order on "nailedness" up top it goes Owen, Fowler, Litmanen, Heskey, Litmanen. A trend i see with Litmanen quite a bit is that he starts well in the game but then even if he gets minutes his
attacking returns diminish as the season goes on and he can end with an average rating of around 7.0 over the season - much of this can be due to cameo appearances though in fairness.
In short, the only players close to nailed are Dudek, Hypia, Babbel, Gerrard and Owen.

Henchoz can become the preferred partner at CB and if he does, usually will outscore Hypia in avg rating and attacking returns, however given they are the same price it doesn't seem worth the risk (although he may already have that spot going by Supercup)
