Hi @NCDCgov NCDC, there’s a case of POSSIBLE COVID-19 death in Kubwa, Abuja, that you need to look into.

A concerned neighbour of the deceased had spoken to your officials thrice without getting satisfactory results; that’s why we’re escalating.
1/6
2/6 When this elderly couple returned from the UK, they refused to self-isolate — much to the chagrin of their neighbours.

One neighbour called one of your lines; the call was answered by a lady who promised that NCDC staff show up at the location the following day...
3/6 ...but this never happened.

Yesterday evening, the woman (name deliberately concealed for now) was confirmed dead.

She had been sick and had been receiving treatment at a private hospital.
4/6 Again, this neighbour reached your official on 080097000010 but the lady who answered the call — as well as another who called back with a private number — didn’t see the need for a visit.

Now, the neighbours of the deceased are extremely apprehensive.
5/6 They want a post-mortem to ascertain the cause of her death. If it’s COVID–ve, it means they can finally have peace. And if it’s +ve, it’s an opportunity for early onset of contact tracing to limit potential spread.
6/6 The neighbour who contacted you has authorised me to supply her details if you indeed want to treat this case.

We know you’re doing well already, please, but there’s just more work to be done.🙏🙏🙏
