The fixation with Sanders "convincing" his supporters to vote for Biden is absurd. It's the product of the oft told lie that Sanders supporters didn't show up for Clinton. The vast majority did and the % that did not was consistent w previous races where ppl's first choice lost.

Sanders campaigned for Clinton. A lot. He will campaign for Biden. A lot. Biden and he are actually friends (yuck). People are projecting a lot of angst between supporters onto these ppl in ways that don't reflect reality. And it's really irritating.

Bottom line, Sanders will do his part, but it was not him or his supporters who decided to send a confused, baggage-heavy man into the ring with Trump. So maybe take some responsibility for what you've done and worry about *your part* in getting rid of Trump.

Also "your part" is not harassing, shaming, or otherwise alienating people whose votes you hope to direct. That doesn't work, you know it doesn't work, and you know that you are only doing it because you get off on it and enjoy expressing yourself. So fucking stop it.

And before someone says "that was what the Bernie Bros did," let's continue to live in reality where research has demonstrated that Sanders supporters were no more abusive or vitriolic than the rest of you. We just spent less time talking about how ppl hurt our feelings on here.

This poll indicates that 80% of Sanders supporters are ready to vote for Biden. That's a very strong number as these things go. The % of Sanders supporters who will not vote for Biden is small. You won't get to blame them if the worst candidate the DNC possibly could have coughed up loses. It will be those of you who pushed for this outcome and the DNC itself who delivered us to full blown fascism.
