It was shared w/ me Lowe’s Home Improvement is maintaining unsafe working environments during COVID 19. Here are complaints by anonymous employees in MI. Please RT

1. Employees don’t have to sterilize returns+are allowed to put items right back on the shelf for customers to buy
2. Other customers are allowed to buy these returned, unsterilized, non essential items, potentially bringing the virus back into their homes
3. Although Lowe’s is considered an essential store, customers are coming in to buy non essential items (items to remodel homes, items for gardening, etc) which puts employees at risk and nothing is being enforced about this
4. Employees want to know why they are put at risk for people to come in to buy items to simply remodel their homes.
5. If you have a family member or live with someone with corona virus you get two weeks paid leave off. However if you don’t live with someone with corona virus yet still have to take care of that person, you don’t get PTO.
6. There is a head regional manager who was in close proximity to an employee who tested positive for corona. That employee died last week. All employees who came in contact w/the deceased employee are quarantined yet the head regional manager is still making visits to stores
7. For the last few weeks certain store+regional managers have had an attitude about making as much profit & money as they can. More concern placed on selling non essential items & profit than the lives of their employees and putting their employees at risk of the virus.
7 continued
...Regardless of the emphasis Governor Whitmere has placed on stores being open to sell essential items.
8. As Employees fear for their health and safety they have overheard managers excitedly insist how the company can make more money now since they are open later than Home Depot(who has reduced hours because of the pandemic)
9. Employees have heard some managers say they want the stores to stay open because “at least employees have jobs” when a solution could also just be CEO’s still paying those with hourly wages so they can stay home.
10. There are people with pre existing health conditions still on the work schedule. These groups were told via email that the BEST they can get is 2 weeks PTO and only if they have proof of said condition or proof that they live with someone with a pre existing condition.
11. Employees are being made to sanitize the store during closing after working long hourly shifts and are not trained on how to properly do so and may or may not be properly sanitizing.
12. There are stores with cashiers who are not sanitizing/sterilizing their working stations as customers come through the line, in compliance with state regulation
13. Before April 9th employees had to purchase mask and gloves on their own bc management was not protecting them. They were finally given masks and gloves after 3 weeks.
14. There may potentially be some stores who still may not have access to gloves and masks
15. since day 1 they have not been enforcing customers to not buy non essential items.

16. Recent changes in how Lowe’s operates their stores in the midst of the COVID 19 pandemic has only come after articles have been posted online. Even more reason for y’all to RT/share this
In this time of crisis, this corporation is doing everything they can to fly under the radar by not prioritizing the rules to keep this virus at a minimum or risk reduction of the spread, to make profit.

Please do your best to share this information for the safety of employees
