Amidst the #CoronaVirus pandemic, a marvellous achievement of the @trspartyonline @TelanganaCMO KCR, @trsharish @PSRTRS @SingireddyTRS didn't come into limelight.

Telangana farmers achieved a never before feat.
The rice yield numbers are not yet out, but the numbers are going to shock the nation.
It is estimated to yield 225 lakh tonnes of rice this year.

Don't believe? See he numbers...
The total area in which farmers sown paddy this year for kharif and rabi increased 64%.

Infact it's just 11 lakh acres short of doubling the previous years area.

181% increase in area when compared to the normal area under paddy cultivation in Telangana.
I took the old districts as a unit for convenience.

Mahabubnagar leads the way in the percentage increase of area under paddy cultivation with a envious 126% increase and no other district comes near.
Thanks to #KCR s brainchild #Kaleshwaram lift irrigation projects, the paddy acerage more than doubled in Mahabubnagar. It's fruits are already being enjoyed by the district people. The migration of Palamooru people significantly decreased and people r coming back home
The fortune of Mahabubnagar changed for good with this. The assembly election results of this district speak for itself how impressed this district people are with TRS leadership
Next comes Nizamabad with a whopping 7lakh acre paddy crop with an increase of 3.65 lakhs acres compared to the previous year.

This dist too benifitted from kaleshwaram lift irrigation projects #KLIP
The Nizam Sagar project, SRSP and KLIP helped Nizamabad dost farmers to have guaranteed water supply. For the first time in decades, SRSP Dam was filled to the brim, thanks to bumper monsoon, heavy rains in Maharashtra and KLIP
Next in 3rd place comes Khammam dist which also doubled its area with paddy cultivation with a whopping 3.86 lakhs acres compared to the 1.88 lakh acres previously.
Sagar dam is filled to the brim and the left canal supplied ample water to the dist farmers
4th comes Medak with 87% increase in paddy cultivation area. This dist too had high migration rate once...it's reversing now.
Who would have thought Ranga Reddy district takes 5th place in this list? But it happened !
Then comes the Karimnagar district which is in 2nd place in terms of total area under paddy cultivation. It has a massive 10 lakhs acres under paddy cultivation which almost doubled from 5.65lakhs acres.
Here comes Nalgonda with a colossal 11.68 lakh acres of land with paddy. It takes 1st place in terms of paddy cultivated area in the state.

Previous year it had only 6.48lakh acres of paddy
What fuels a million plus acres of land of paddy in Nalgonda? Nagarjuna Sagar canal, SRSP canal, tanks, wells and ground water do this.
Then comes Adilabad district with 3.14 lakhs acres with an increase of 130486 acres with a 71% increase.
The last but not the least... Warangal district the home of Kakatiyas. With the legendary linked lakes it has now 6.5lakh acres of paddy cultivated land which increased from the previous 3.85lakh acres.
One can imagine the amount of tonnes of rice Telangana farmers are going to harvest as Rabi season has the major chunk of area under paddy cultivation.
There are multiple reasons for the farmers to turn to paddy cultivation instead of commercial crops.
1. More profitable and less risky
2. Lower price fluctuations
3. Water availability

The third point being the most important reason for this.
Kaleshwaram lift irrigation projects have started to bear fruits and is being utilised by the farmers.

Vast areas of atleast half of the cultivable area in Telangana has got water security worth this scheme. The results are there to see.
The major irrigation projects are filled to the brim because of bumper monsoon and floods in the neighbouring states.
Lakes, ponds catering lakhs of acres of farm lands due to Mission Kakatiya lake rejuvenation scheme came handy with surplus water flowing from the bunds.
The ground water increased considerably due to this.
Last but not the least, the electricity department is doing a wonderful job giving quality power to the farmers throughout the year. A major chunk of T farmers are dependent on bore wells.
With all these reasons, Telangana is now being called the rice bowl of the country. Did we ever think of this 5yrs ago? Dreams do come true.
